  3. It's worth ringing a Skoda dealer to ask at least, give them your reg/VIN and see what they say - if it hasn't been done then you should be able to have it done for free. I think if you put your reg in on the MOT history website that should tell you about outstanding recalls too. I thought that the fault code would tell you which injector was the culprit but if not then it can be checked fairly easily - remove the cam cover and check the resistance across each injector using a multimeter. Hopefully you can do this without unplugging the connectors in the injectors as they are quite difficult to remove without shattering them.
  4. I'm guessing since you mentioned the DPF your car is a PD170? If that's the case it could be injector related, it was a known issue for PD170 Siemens injectors to fail and there was a recall at the time for it, if your car has had the recall done there should be sticker in the boot by the spare wheel well. That injector failure fits your symptoms as it caused the engine to shut off entirely. As pikpilot said though, fault codes are the only way to know for sure.
  5. Cheers for the advice! Now to shop around for fascia panels... I would also like to retrofit Bluetooth at some point, either OEM or a Fiscon kit, any verdict on which is better? Would both of these work painlessly with either a Bolero or Columbus unit? The only fuctionality I need is music playback with play/pause/skip function, I don't have Maxidot or MFSW (although intergration with these would be nice if I ever chose to retrofit them).
  6. Hi, do the Bluetooth modules come with wiring to install them?
  7. Hi guys, I've just bought my first Octy - a Pre-FL vRS TDI. It has the Stream MP3 head unit as standard and I fancy upgrading to something else to get a little more functionality and a slightly more modern look. I know this topic has been covered before but I'm struggling to find any definitive information on which of the standard Skoda units (Bolero, Columbus etc) will fit into the fascia trim currently in my car. Any other advice on such an upgrade would be appreciated too. I know the other option is one of those Xtrons or similar Android units but they always seem to look cheap and garish despite the extra functionality. Thank you 😀
  8. At the top of Hartside pass in the fog the other week...
