SD card slot location.
Just spotted the USB at E. Now, there's something that makes powering up a dashcam a whole lot easier. Didn't know of that option. Will remember for the future. What does it cost?

Lane assist and stop/start,
From Ctek brochure: 'The MXS 3.8 is a fully automatic ‘connect and forget’ 12V charger with 7 charging steps and offers selectable 0.8A, and 3.8A programs. The ‘Snowflake’ mode operates on the 3.8A program. It offers a wide charging range on all lead-acid battery types from 1.2Ah up to 80Ah.................'

Lane assist and stop/start,
Ctek MXS 3.8 Charger is cycling through to Green zone - Indicating battery is not sulphated and is holding charge. However, multi meter shows drop from fully charged to 11.94V average overnight. I’ll keep a watch on it. Will pop into dealer next time I’m passing.

Karoq SE 1.5 Drive DSG Black Magic As roof rail and window trim come in black as standard I decided to match grill surround. Used black gloss wrap.

Lane assist and stop/start,
On last point. As I said previously; had it not been for intermittent stop/start I’d never have given the battery a second thought.

Lane assist and stop/start,
Hi all, Have gained enough from here, the local dealer and elsewhere to confirm the stop/start function will be intermittent - it's down to the conditions that prevail at the time. To finally put this thread to bed, one last thing. Is car battery doing its job? Using Ctek MXS 3.8 I charged the battery until it was in Green zone. Did this on two occasions. First occasion: Reading 12.8V. Following morning at rest 12.14V Second occasion: Reading12.7V. Following morning at rest 11.98V. Thereafter, over four days with varying length journeys, 4 to 25 miles, readings following morning at rest were: 11.98V, 11.92V, 11.93V and 11.94V. Are these what you'd expect the voltages to be on a three year old battery? Note. Had it not been for the intermittent operation of the start/stop I would not have had any reason to check the battery. The car starts and runs spot-on.

Lane assist and stop/start,
I'd like to know how!!

Someone to Vinyl wrap grill surround
As title, in West of Scotland. Preferably near Carluke. ‘Karoqer130’ posted he’d found someone. I’ve messaged but no response.

Lane assist and stop/start,
Lane Assist. MrSecretPotato: 'If you have a thin black plastic cover between the headliner and rear view mirror, you only have rain and light sensor. If you have a wide plastic cover(10cm) then you should have a camera, therefore you can get lane assist.' Car has thin film. So, no camera, therefore no Lane assist!! Thank you! Stop/Start. To the others; thank you for insight. Seems my car isn't alone. I'll cancel each time. Don't want to get caught out if it unexpectedly decided to work.

Lane assist and stop/start,
From pic I attached you'll see the car has Front Assist and it's activated. Does that mean it has a camera? Going back to question in first post - Does anyone know: 'Does/Should an October 2020 Karoq 150 SE Drive have Lane assist?' On stop/start. Checked battery: resting voltage - 12.14V. Could that be contributory to erratic stop/start? Charging is good though - 14.19V

Lane assist and stop/start,
I’ve had the Karoq for a month or so now and by and large very pleased. But, need your help on a couple of points. Lane assist. Does a 2020 Karoq SE Drive have Lane assist? I can’t find any reference in the assist menu. All I can find is a screen including Front assist. But no Lane assist. And, there is no lane assistance. I can cross lanes at will. Stop/start. This seems to have a mind of its own. Works sometimes. Doesn’t others. Dealer says it’s quite normal behaviour when doing lots of short journeys. Note: I did lots of short journeys in my Kamiq and it never behaved like this. Incidentally, I’m not too bothered at not having either of these. I’m just wanting to know if my particular car should have Lane assist and why the stop/start is intermittent.

Swapped to Karoq from Kamiq.
For me it's only slightly in favour of Karoq. The Kamiq is more than competent. To sum up. If the day ever came where the choice was limited to a Kamiq or Karoq I'd opt for the Kamiq SE with 17" wheels. That's it!!

Swapped to Karoq from Kamiq.
Good to hear. Nothing ruins the driving experience quite like too stiff suspension and road noise. If combined, absolutely horrid.

Swapped to Karoq from Kamiq.
Update 50 miles today on twisty Scottish Border roads and stiffer suspension on the Karoq gives it the edge over the Kamiq re-handling.

Swapped to Karoq from Kamiq.
Quote: fabill, you seem to be suggesting that the Kamiq has a better ride - interesting. Any commsent about road noise, which is the quieter. Hi. Our Kamiq was 2021, SE 1.0 DSG on 17", shod with Continental Ecorun. 205/55/17 On normal surfaces the ride was limo-like - I kid you not - with very little road noise. Had tendency to bounce a little on uneven roads. I've had 39 cars and the Kamiq was definitely the most refined of them all. How a wee SUV could be so is simply amazing. Now, the Karoq. SE 1.5 DSG on 17" - Falken Zeix on front and Goodyear Efficiency on the rear 215/55/17. Slightly stiffer ride compared to the Kamiq. Nothing in it regarding road noise - both very quiet. Definitely feels better 'planted' on uneven surfaces. Summing up. I don't regret swapping to Karoq; it feels a bit more 'premium'. If I had to chose between the two however, I'd opt for the Kamiq. Of course, it's early days with the Karoq.

Swapped to Karoq from Kamiq.
Just to let fellow Briskodians know that this week I acquired a Karoq to replace Kamiq. My almost three years with the Kamiq were simply superb; what a brilliant car. Sad to see it go. However, I'm fast approaching 80 now, so just fancied something different. This is my third Skoda: 2005 Fabia VRS, Black Magic. What fun was had in that wee rocket.!! 2021 Kamiq 1.0 SE DSG, Titan Blue. Smoothest car ever - and I've had 39. 2020 Karoq 150 SE Drive, Black Magic. Early days but initial impressions favourable. Not as supple as Kamiq but more than acceptable.

About to press the button on a Kamiq order
7 months and 2200 miles and I still look forward to every trip in our 1.0 DSG Kamiq SE. In D it wafts along. Simply superb. If there's anything I'm not 100% with it's the DSG's slight hesitation when pulling away, as Kental mentioned, and the infuriating stop-start function. A potentially deadly combination when attempting to nip into a line of moving traffic or joining a crowded roundabout. I'm wise to it now but early on caused a few heart fluttering moments.

Kamiq review - short and sweet
Although I am very pleased with the Kamiq, as the first post on this thread confirms, the standard specifications are meagre in comparison with other brand offerings at same/similar price. In fact, almost without exception, this policy is endemic in VAG. But it didn't dissuade me from opting for another - the Kamiq. I chose the Kamiq primarily on my experience of the VAG 1.0 litre engine and DSG transmission which was in the 2018 Audi A3 we had previously. Now, to the point. The passenger seat. For that to be non-adjustable is in one word, Unbelievable. More especially as the Kamiq is an SUV. For certain, our car would have arrived without an adjustable seat had my wife not mentioned the fact when we test drove the dealer demonstrator. And I'd have been in the first instance surprised and the second livid. You see, it would never, ever, have occurred to me to check. Would it have occurred to you? So, for those who might be considering a Kamiq be aware that height adjustable passenger seat is standard only on the SE-L. It is an option on S and SE.

Becoming a new owner of the Kamiq
'...........................the fan for the climate control which is adjustable on the navigation screen and I don't find it user friendly.' Got my Kamiq in February. In 2020 I looked at many youtube reviews before making final choice. In one of them Matt Watson (Carbuyer) commented on this very point. Like him and you I cannot begin to understand the logic. The car we had at that point was a 2018 Audi A3 which had a climate control console which looked very similar to that in the Kamiq; but unlike the Kamiq it had a fan speed knob mounted in the centre between the temp knobs. So, why not in the Kamiq. Weird decision. Turning a knob to vary the fan speed is totally intuitive. In your words 'user friendly'. Tapping a screen less so.

Kamiq review - short and sweet
I apologise if you've already viewed this video. If you haven't then, I think you might find it interesting and informative. Especially the reference to the Yeti. It's not all praise; no review ever is, but the pros have it over the cons IMO. He is not complimentary reference the ride. The test car is the SEL with 18" wheels. Mine is SE with 17" Volans and low resistance tyres. Perhaps this combo makes for a better ride. It's not as smooth a ride as the Peugeot 2008 I test drove for instance. But I'm not dissatisfied. The Skoda configurator shows the options list includes the features you have in your Yeti. Of course, some will or might incur extra cost.

Kamiq review - short and sweet
From Xman: End of my contribution to this thread. From J.R. : A very wise decision it turns out, I am now following your lead. Oh, you're back in the game again! Changed you mind? Not following Xman's lead, after all. Good. I'm enjoying this.

Sorry to hear that. I was enjoying this.

Kamiq review - short and sweet
The car he drove is irrelevant in the context of what I take issue with. All Kamiqs have same top of dashboard and front door cappings. They’re are what Xman expected - squidgy, not, as he commented, hard. That’s what is patently wrong. A test drive is not necessary to establish that. That’s the point. The same can be said of the rear area. Xman states it looked cramped. Patently it is not cramped. Not just my opinion but the unanimous verdict in the motoring press. As previous, that doesn’t require a test drive. That’s the point. As I’ve stated on numerous occasions I acknowledge and respect the right of everyone to his/her opinion. These are generally a mix of factual and personal. The latter is obviously subjective. The former is not. It should be objective. Accurate. I trust this answers your questions.

Kamiq review - short and sweet
Your comments miss the point completely. What he experienced during the test drive is totally irrelevant. Like you, I couldn't care less what anyone thinks of the Kamiq. However, to make comments that are patently wrong is something I do care about.

Kamiq review - short and sweet
'Seems some can't respect that people can possibly have a different opinion to their own.' Your comment is disingenuous. I've already acknowledged in previous post that you, same as everyone else, is entitled to his/her opinion. 'Heres Mat Watson's view, more in line with yours, maybe not as extremely gushing' Here's Mat Watson's view, more in line with yours. That's a real compliment. Thank you. '.......maybe not as extremely gushing'. Perhaps not. But if he had driven it for as many miles as I have he might have been even more gushing.
