  1. Robs12, That looks like the way I was heading as far as the amp is concerned, how you getting on with the Kenwood?? Varaderoguy, Thank you, will contact SashaGrace and see about an update to the head unit. As for the speaker, I had been listening to a podcast and the connection failed to my phone so the head unit switched to the radio. Must have had the volume up rather loud to hear the podcast! My last car (focus) had a Fosgate 12" sub in the boot with an alpine amp. sounded lovely but the boot space is more important now!
  2. For the doors? £150 ish For the sub? £250 ish Hoping to power the doors from the head unit.
  3. How did the front speaker blow? Prodigy. Image attached!
  4. So after 1500 miles and endless playing about I have decided the audio sounds pants (partly as I have blown a front speaker) Time for a budgetish upgrade! As I need the boot, a sub will make its way under the drivers/passengers seat, apart from accessing the cables at the back of the glovebox that looks relatively easy. I will leave the rear speakers alone as they are pretty much turned off anyway unless the kids are in the car. What would people recommend for the front doors? Should I go with a coaxial style speaker and ignore the tweeter at the top of the door? That should give better imaging? Or should I go with a component set and replace the tweeters? Any advice more than welcome! A
  5. Afternoon all, Yet another new member with a Skoda. After having fords for the last 18 years I decided the time had come to try something else. My Mother is on her second Fabia, both of which she loves, and let me borrow it to see how a small petrol with the dsg box felt. Her plan worked as the next day I placed an order for a second hand Octavia. So I have a 2020 plate in race blue with the 1.5 petrol and the dsg box. So far I am absolutely loving this car, the smoothness of the gear change is amazing and the car feels so light and nimble compared to the focus. My only complaint is the stereo, sounds a bit anemic and i wish it had a cd player! A
