  1. I edited my comment just after posting re- service. It's the first service for me. The car had 15,000 miles when we bought it. When they did the pre-sale checks I asked about the brake fluid and was told it had been measured at <1% presumably water content. How can I check the service record? It's all online isn't it or on the car's ECU perhaps. I don't have any documents.
  2. I bought the car last July and it needs it's service within 1000miles or 29 days. First registered 2nd March 2018. I am paying for the All-in plan (£32/m). I'm looking at the booking form and wondering what exactly I need. Car's done 23000miles. Should I tick the aircon options, the pollen filter, brake fluid change, spark plugs, winter health check? I don't want to penny-pinch but on the other hand I don't want to pay for things that don't need doing. If I recall correctly brake fluid is normally changed at three years. Is it covered in the all-in plan. Need to check.
  3. It applies the brakes automatically if the car approaches something too quickly. I assume this is front assist.
  4. I use cruise control a lot but it would be so much better if it was adaptive.
  5. Or if they are waiting for your next visit with the data at the port.
  6. I used a magnetic GB some of the time in France. On the ferry over and return we saw about 50% of UK vehicles with GB/UK signs. Someone suggested applying a UK sticker to my magnetic GB. That's what I will do next time. I would not be happy if this 'so called' government told me I had to change my EU badged number plates. Hope the silliness stops short of that.
  7. A tour of southern France Amundsen - failed to find places (will try to capture a picture of this), showed max 80kph on all single carriageways which is incorrect as some allow 90kph. Didn't show 30 kph limits. Trying to mute the media - pause the music, go back to satnav turn up the volume to hear the instructions and music starts up again. Random view of roads - sometimes zoomed in sometimes distant view. External satnav - iphone SE often failed to connect over good usb to media unit. When it did work, Waze would often not show any initial directions. Sitting there waiting to find out do we turn left or right onto road. It was better at showing speed limits and I liked the overspeed warnings. Google - the mispronounciation of place names is annoying. Doesn't show real speed we are travelling like Waze.
  8. I have been informed that the single carriageway limit was reduced to 80kph from 90. Central government then allowed the departments to leave it at 80 or revert to 90. I think most chose to restore the limit to 90 on roads they deemed most suitable.
  9. The Amundsen with the latest update downloaded from this forum shows me 80kph
  10. Trying Waze today. Just checked that I can access it on the Amundsen system. Can't see how to adjust the volume on the car though unless I can do it on the phone.
  11. I'm wondering which satnav app is likely to show me up to date speed limits in France. The Amundsen with the latest update downloaded from this forum shows me 80kph even when roads are signposted 90kph. With the shake up of single carriageway limits a reliable speed limiter is a big help. I'm about to try Waze but I doubt the display will show on the car's screen.
  12. Yes agree. I'm going to get it printed.
  13. Something we forgot to do
  14. I start typing the location name for instance Saint and it offers me a very limited list of place names. Will check on accents. I had the same problem though in the UK. It wouldn't recognise Hay on Wye
  15. I have found the Amunsen satnav to be a complete PITA. It doesn't recognise half the villages or towns in spite of showing them on the map which can be tedious to find them. The zoom in to show route guidance seems quite random. In France I find I have to revert to Google often.
  16. I believe I am supposed to carry a copy of my MOT cert driving in France. When I bought the car a couple of months back at three and a bit years old, the dealer told me if I remember correctly that a paper mot cert isn't produced. I am carrying a link on my phone to the gov site for checking mot.
  17. Oh well that simplifies things. I'll have to but a bigger card for the music. I am surprised to see 256G cards for around £30.
  18. This forum's edit function seems to be on a short timer! Ok so I tried to add - I'm not sure if I want to stick with the built in satnav or use one I can install on my iphone. For now I woud like to continue using one card for satnav but add music files too if it's possible. I wondered also if anyone had used the Mappy satnav or could recommend another. I don't like the Google one.
  19. Thanks. Am I correct in thinking I can add music files to the card used for satnav and it will be selectable as a music source? As I use flac files I do use a lot of storage capacity.
  20. Must amend my profile. Yes I've sold the old girl that I travelled 100,000 miles in. She was a brilliant car. I have a Mk3 Se L now.
  21. Perhaps cloning isn't necessary at all and I just need to find a new card with editable CID. If anyone's done this could they provide a link to a suitable card?
  22. Having read further on here I realise the cloning process would need to also clone the CID if that is actually possible to read it and write it to the new card.
