  1. My virtual dashboard was replaced 3 weeks ago & resolved the mph/kph problems. A couple of days later I was asked to book the car in again as a few more software recalls had arisen. Took it in last week but they were unable to apply the updates. The way it was explained to me was that the computer/control box that they use to connect to the car had a problem (it had recently been updated itself), rather than a fault with the car. They should make this into a tv series, but it would probably be turned down as too unrealistic.
  2. My system information is :- p/n 5E3035816 H/W H56 S/W 1668 Display unit h/w H44 Display unit s/w 2088
  3. My digital instrument panel was replaced last week, & some software fixes applied. Went on holiday in the car almost immediately, so done over 200 miles since, and all seems well. The mph/kph issue is fixed. Getting used to the car again as I only had it for a few weeks before it went in for repair, 6 months ago. The only irritations now are the slightly over zealous lane assist, & the satnav still believing most of urban UK is 'offroad'. All my system information parameters are as before. Had call from the dealer a couple of days after picking up the car to say they have just received notice of a few more recalls for software patches so booked in to do that soon. Starting to enjoy driving the car I thought it was when I bought it. Hang on in there folks.
  4. Hello NOEONPLANET40. Any news about your replacement head unit. Did it fix any problems?
  5. Same here. The first hire car, a Mercedes c200 estate, had to go back as its mileage meant the hire company wanted to sell it. Nice car but the auto box not as smooth as a DSG one. Everything worked though, no errors. Now have a Kia Sportage. Bit plasticky compared to the Merc, but it does the job. Plenty of room for the Christmas shopping. Think I might apply for a job as a tester for one of the car mags.
  6. No idea of details, but I was told it is a software update so should be instantly available for download to dealers when released. I was informed of this in a call from Kate Laws, who I feel is doing her best in a situation not of her making. I found some of the derogatory remarks in this thread disappointing & was surprised they weren't edited out.
  7. I too am in waiting mode. I was told on 10th June that the factory would be releasing a fix in 2 weeks, so not long now. Meanwhile my car has been at the local dealer since 26th April & I've been putting miles on the hire car. I keep getting messages from Lookers in Stockport, from where I bought the car, saying it's due for a service. I think the are taking the mickey, as my local dealer checked the database & say I'm on variable servicing so it's not due for another year. Lookers have been particularly useless. I wouldn't go near them again even with an extra long bargepole. Let's hope the fix works & doesn't introduce any new problems
  8. Oops, pressed the wrong button & repeated my last entry. My car has been with the local dealer for 3 weeks so I am slumming it in a Mercedes C200 estate hire car. As per Ajdude I have taken the hire option to save miles on my car, & give Skoda a cost incentive to fix it. Kate Laws has been in regular contact but really just courtesy calls to say the factory are still working on it. My only issue is the mph to kph one. Haven't gone down the reject route yet as the car fits my requirements better than most, but there will come a point when patience runs out. I can only assume the reason to keep the car off the road is the failure to comply with UK Construction & Use regs. I don't expect the service engineers are continually working on it! The Merc is fine, but the auto gearbox is nowhere near as smooth as a DSG unit, & it's decades since I drove a rear wheel drive car.
  9. I can echo Adjude's previous post. Been contacted by Kate Laws today to ask if my car can be booked in for an extended stay, to resolve the mph/kph issue. They will provide either a loan Skoda or a hire car for the duration, a stipulation being that I am able to fit my golf clubs & trolley in the boot. Should be booked in next week. Skoda seem to be reacting well now that it is accepted that there is a problem. As long as they fix it without creating any other snags I'll be happy. As my car was a dealer's ex demo or employee vehicle, it would have been nice if the person driving it had noticed the bugs & reported them earlier. Might go on a diet of lettuce & carrots now that I seem to be a guinea pig.
  10. My car was registered July 2020 (ex-demo from dealer) Bought it on 18/3/21 Notified dealer of mph/kph problem 21/3/21 Contacted HJ 21/3/21 First contact from Skoda UK 22/3/21 I am currently awaiting a call to take the car in to my local dealer & pick up a hire car. So far my issues are the mph/kph problem, & the satnav's inability to recognise UK postcodes without giving an 'offroad' destination.

  12. I've been contacted by Kate Laws too as a result of my complaint through HJ. I've explained the issue to her & am awaiting a response. Will update when I receive it
  13. Thanks GaryL. I won't waste any more time looking. It's been 9 years since I changed cars so I'm having to learn the modern ways of doing things.
  14. No, nothing in the handbook, either handwritten or sticker.
  15. I had roofbars on my Octavia mk2 2011 & there was only one locating hole on the upper door frame. My new mk4 has 2 locating holes so they won't fit. Not sure what the situation was on the mk3.
