  1. Hey! Sorry to bring this back to life but has a solution been found to the original problem? My VC reverts back to the "standard" view every time I restart the car. Gets annoying having to reselect my desired view every time. Not sure if this is relevant but I have a 3Q gateway on the car.
  2. Alrighty! Thank You for the quick response. I'll try and talk to @pab567
  3. Hei guys! Got a question for you. I want to have the VC retrofit done. The unit is 5E0920790. Reading through this topic I still don't know if I can have the maps on VC or not. Please enlighten me! I have a MIB2 3V0035043D HARDWARE H50 SOFTWARE 1433 (fom pab)
  4. Thank You for all the information, I appreciate it. Elegance, gotcha. Sunroof is something I can live without as on some other cars I had it generated problems. Leaks, rust, maintenance. Are the ones on the Fabia mk2 alright? Estate is out of the question, the primary function being small city car. Musts for her are MFSW, Climate, Heated seats (or she'll kill me) and Fog Lights, if it would also have 4 electric windows that'd be ideal. Mileage does not scare me if the car has been properly serviced and cared for. Budget? 5000-6000e let's say. She seems to like the Monte Carlo Red version with the black glossy trim. It does look special! don't it?. Kinda sick of diesels and I'd rather have a petrol. The engine will not get long runs either. It will be mostly a city car. How's the 1.4 Supercharged in the vRS? Roger that, Thank You. How about retrofitting a steering wheel from an Octavia 3/4. I'm really not a fan of the old style Skoda steering wheels.
  5. Hello Guys, I'm looking to get a MK2 Fabia for the wife as a city car, used primarily to get to and from work and to drive the baby around to kindergarten/school. I'd appreciate any advice you have to offer me. Especially what to look for when checking out potential buys. Regarding the vRS, a friend (that knows cars) suggested that it's best I stay away from them as to much can go wrong being a supercharged engine and even more so with the automatic dry DSG gearbox. Another thing of note is that the primary driver for this car (the wife) is suffering from a Lumbar Disc Hernia so comfort is a must. From what I saw most Fabia 2s do not excel in the features department. Most I've seen not evening having a MFSW which struck me as odd and leads me to the next subject of interest. The Retrofit scene. Would it be possible to buy a less kited out Fabia and retrofit w/e I want to it later on? Things such as Climate Control, MFSW, Heated Seats, Xenon/LED headlights etc. Thank You!
  6. Hey Guys! So, I have a fetish for the "easy entry" feature (The one that slides the chair backwards when you unlock zhe car!) The option has been coded and should work but it does not, nor does the "easy entry" option show up in the display. I suspect this is because I may be running old software? @pab567 Pretty please help!
  7. Upgrade done. After a breaking them in and doing a few tests this is what I can say about the new setup. In case you're just searching through Google (like I was) in search of info here are a few things to bear in mind: - Far Superior than my OEM setup which was in good condition. - Requires a lot less pedal pressure in order to achieve the desired braking level. - Don't expect it to blow your mind, for that you need to go bigger. - Consider swapping to bigger disks such as the 312s or even 340s if you want even more stopping power. For the 312s you'' need to change the calipers carriers (as mentioned above) and maybe the dust shields. - Breaking distance did not change after 3 consecutive 100km/h to zero panic braking. But it did change on the 4th adding about 2 car lengths. Apparently this was due to the break fluid which hit over 200c and caused the rubber OEM brakeliens to expand. Going off this, in case you want to go hard or heavy track use than I'd consider braided brakelines from EBC or GOODRIGE or w/e sport brand you trust. Furthermore change the OEM break fluid (which has a boiling point of 265c) with something like MOTUL RBF 660 (boiling point of 325c) Well friends, I think that's it for me on this subject. Overall I'm pleased with the results
  8. Nice one! I also changed the back signal lights and reversing lights with LEDs and the improvement was significant. Think I know which YT vid helped you since it was probably the same for me. For Fog lights I threw out the stock halogens as they were basically worthless and replaced with H8 Philipps Fog Leds (11366UE2X2) . No errors, No issues, HUGE improvement at night and when cornering. I'd also suggest replacing your mirror turn signal LEDS with dynamic scrolling ones. They look sick! Here's something that I'd like to know. How do you set the angle of the fog lights? My left one is way higher than the right one. Not sure if that's ok. Cars is LHD. 2017 pre-facelift.
  9. Gathered all the parts but my friend blew his Cupra Engine so I'll have to wait for his rebuild first, don't really want to change brakes myself. Note: They are so heavy!
  10. Yes, my parts guy checked using the VIN. Will update as I go 👍
  11. Small Update on my end. Decided to keep to the 288 on the front and 272 on the back after receiving reassurance that the new setup has a lot stopping power than my current OEM setup, money back guarantee and all that jazz. I'm happy about this considering that the brake caliper carriers needed for the 312 on the front would have added around 350e to the total cost. Zimmermann Sport Drilled Discs and Textar Pads. I'd like to ad that here Textar pads are a bit.. ~5% cheaper than ATE (which I normally use) but according to my mechanic they make a better paring with Zimmermann Sport Discs. I shall return with pics and my thoughts on the new setup. All and all is gonna run me around 500e which I think is a bargain and hopefully it gets me the results I'm looking for and the confidence to remap. Thank You everyone for the stellar attitude and great information
  12. Wohoo! Awesome! Now for my final puzzle... does the Brake Pad size/specification change or does it remain the exact same one as for the factory 288 disc?
  13. Excellent info! Thank You. Can you show me a pic or ideally give me a part number for those caliper carriers for the 312 discs?
  14. Solid Idea, will see if I can get Cermaic or Semi-Ceramic Textar Pads. From what I remember they are supposed to last a very long time? Update on the specs. Car came out of the factory with 288 on the front and 272 on the back. Not sure if I should make the move to 312 on 17 inch wheels. I'll have a talk with my mechanic and do some more digging!
  15. Hello! Thank You for the great info, I appreciate it! Never found performance disks and pads worth? Hmm... strange. I always feel a big difference when I make a jump from stock but ei.. who knows. That brake setup you suggested seems a bit... "not ideal" for 17' thou. Btw it's a TDI so weight should not be an issue considering 340Nm worth of Glorious Torque (before s1) Think I'll stick to 321 front and 272 rear as I don't think Size is an issue in this case. More Research I Shall Do!
