  1. Thanks for all your helpful replies and, especially, the photograph
  2. Could someone please tell me what this box is for? Is it a sensor or some sort of control box. After a front-end shunt, the ACC no longer works and I'm wondering if it's to do with this box? Thanks for any help.
  3. I feel your pain. In the past, there have been many posts/complaints about the very uncomfortable seats in the Superb and there seems to be no solution. I've been trying to find aftermarket front seats to replace the standard seats, but with no luck at all. I'm surprised Skoda haven't picked up on this problem as, as you say, the Superb is a fine car in every other respect, but it is badly let down by the painful seats.
  4. Superbs are lovely cars. Mines a 2018 model. Be very wary of seat comfort. To my mind this is what lets down the car. I'm rather a short person and find the driver's seat VERY uncomfortable, but have to put up with it.
  5. Has anyone replaced their front seats with some from a different model or some after-market seats? I'd like more support and comfort than the Alacantra seats presently give.
  6. How do I determine which gearbox my car has? The car is a 2018 Superb Technology TDI S-A 1968 cc. 7 speed dsg and diesel. I can't find any information about this in the paperwork. Any pointers would be much appreciated.
  7. There have been posts complaining about the driver's seat being uncomfortable for many people, even though others find it quite comfortable. The discomfort I experience with the standard seat has now become an issue for me. I am wondering if, first of all, anyone has found an alternative seat to replace the one in a 2019 Superb Technology, or, has anyone had the existing seat altered in any way by a car seat trimmer? It seems a shame that the pleasure of driving this great car is spoilt by the driving seat's poor design.
  8. Never having had this feature in any of my previous cars, I am intirgued and puzzled at its unpredicactable functioning. The sensor (wherever it is) seems to not understand the difference between late afternoon wintery full sunshine and cloudy gloom with some mist. During the recent very sunny weather, the headlights have been automatically switched on whilst the afternoon sun has been shining, dazzling bright. On the other hand, on occasions of very cloudy, grey skies with no visible sun and a light mist, the automatic light function has not activated. It's not a big deal, but I am puzzled as to why this should be. Any enlightenment would be appreciated.
  9. A small, but annoying problem. The lid of my glove compartment opens randomly with no apparent reason or cause. Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas on how to solve it?
  10. Thanks a lot for posting this very useful link. The process was simplicity itself.
  11. Thank you for the helpful sarcasm. As a new member I really appreciate it.
  12. Hello. I'm mew to Skloda and new to the Forum. I bought a 2018 Superb2.0 ltr automatic a week ago and am thrilled with the car. Everything about it is superb except for the Sat Nav not showing or warning about speed cameras. I don't understand why Skoda have omitted this very useful feature. Having read around the Forum, it seems that there are ways to download the necessary data and instal it into the car's Sat Nav.I bought a subscription to Pocket GPS World and downloaded the dat for the UK onto a new SD card. Followed the instructions for importing the data, but all I get is that Columbus is unable to find the device. The SD card is formatted to Fat 32 and I used the 2nd slot in the glovebox "thingy". No satisfactory result. I've also tried a USB stick to no avail. I don't understand why a 32gb card is needed as, when opening the card via the computer, therre seems to be very little on it apart from two file folders which don't take up much room at all. It seems that I'm doing something wrong somewhere or, omitting to do something of importance. I really would appreciate any help on this
  13. Started car ownership many years ago with a very basic 850cc Mini which had a starter button on the floor, sliding windows and a cord for opening the door. Progressed through a couple of Mini GTs then on to a couple of 2 ltr Opel Mantas, then a couple of 3 ltr, straight 6 Vauxhall Carlton GSi, then two 3ltr, straight six Vauxhall Senators and lastly, for the past ten years, a Mazda 6 diesel. I loved all these cars and they served me well A week ago I bought a Skoda Superb Technology diesel automatic 2018 plate and I've been amazed at the comfort, the roominess, the "toys", the power and smooth gear changes. The Senators that I owned had enough "oomph" to be scary, but I think the Superb has even more. It seems to be a "sheep in wolf's clothing - very sedate in town, but off like rocket when needs be. I've already learned a few things from the Forum like, twitching the steering wheel to restart the engine when in stop/start and I'm sure I'll pick up many more tips along the way
