  2. Hi Paul, Brilliant. Got a good chuckle there. We're not in lockdown per se, but restaurants, gyms and suchlike are closed. Just driving my Octavia around and complaining about problems to keep myself busy. Stay safe and keep me posted on what happens to your transmission.
  3. Hello PoloPaul, All I can say is maybe you should get in touch with the dealer and demand that they address the problem. It hasn't bothered me enough to get in touch with the dealer about the occasional rattling. So many other issues that I have wanted resolving first. Luckily my dealership here in Finland has been extremely forthcoming with the issues. Any issue at all and they have investigated it thoroughly and fixed it to the best of their abilities. It's just these constant software / electrical issues that keep popping up that drive me up the wall that are up to Skoda to fix. Despite the problems I love the car though. Such a joy to drive.
  4. Hi Skodamias, I don't remember noticing a whine with the old nor the new gearbox. I'll try to listen closely next time if I can hear it. I also still occasionally struggle getting in to 1st and reverse even with the new gearbox. Shaking my head ..
  5. I have this exact same problem. First noticed it in December. Thought it might have something to do with the ambient light sensor, but it has since happened in pitch black and on a bright day. Dealership is waiting for info from Škoda on how to address the issue.
  6. I also have the rattling sound when shifting gears at low speeds. Not always, but sometimes when shifting from second to third.
  7. I also have the 1,5 litre petrol with a manual gearbox. I experienced the exact same problem the moment I drove out of the dealership. Getting in to third was tricky and would often require disengaging the clutch. I was hoping it would iron itself out, but after 7000 km it had not, so I got the gearbox changed under warranty. I recommend you do the same if you still suffer from this problem. I'm happy I at least have a functional gearbox now with the plethora of other problems this god forsaken car seems to have.
