  1. We had snow in the night, as it was thawing this morning in the sun it was like Niagera falls running down inside the rear pillar! I am pretty sure its getting under the roof skin now as I have exhausted all other possibilities. I do know the car has never been crashed in its life, not even a minor bump so I assume the sealent has just hardened and cracked with age. Anyone know of a liquid sealent that will creep and find any cracks or holes? I did wonder about black bituminous paint, heated to make it runny and the just dribble it along the join.
  2. Fabia is the wifes, I have just bought back an old Octavia estate I used to own 15 years ago and saved it from being turned into bean tins... I have filled the 8 holes with sealant where I believe the bolts would have gone through and it seams to have stopped leaking at the front but still getting half a cup of water in the NSR corner overnight.
  3. I have a problem with wet getting into the car at the top of both A posts and the left hand back corner. No sunroof or roof rails and rear screen washer has been disconnected and blown through with an airline, windscreen is the original factory fitted one. Anyone know if the roof panels are spot welded or just bonded in place? I currently have the black inserts removed from the channels in the roof and there looks to be some cracking of the mastic sealent stuff where the roof skin meets the structural parts of the shell in the 2 front corners and the NSR corner. Anyone else had similar issues?
  4. It was the bit between the HP pump and the solid pipe on top of the inlet manifold so no flexing involved. It seems to have gone squashy as if something in the fuel has reacted with it.
  5. Check your flexible fuel lines folks, only a few months after the injector rail "fell off" we had the stench of petrol again. A section of rubber fuel line has gone mushy and was squirting fuel all over the engine this morning. Hose has seriously deteriorated, is it modern petrol doing this? this is on a 2016 car not a 40 year old classic.
  6. Fixed ours ourselves in the end, Skoda unhelpful and couldn't look at it for a week plus not prepared to recover it to the dealership 20 miles away. Cost £55 for the injector seal kits (which are much cheaper if you can find a Bosch agent rather than paying Skoda's profit margin). Fiddly horrible job but two of us did it in 3 hours. Replaced the crap bolts with 10.9 high tensile cap heads (steel not stainless). We also levelled up the retaining lugs on the fuel rail which were 2mm out of allignment. Shoddy manufacture and production methods to blame for this failure but Skoda not really interested.
  7. Dunlop SP Sport Maxes on our, still on factory fitted tyres. You would think Dunlop would be better than that!
  8. We also have tyre issues, tread like new but cracked in the bottom of the treads. Car has only done 20k miles.
  9. Did you write to them or go through the "live chat" thing on their website? Think I am going to have to send them a letter....
  10. We managed to pull the inlet manifold forward far enough to get to the injector rail but it was a struggle! No joy from Skoda UK, denying all responsiblity and they treat you like you are stupid. I'd have settled for the parts at no cost and fixed it ourselves. Really not happy as had this happened 5 minutes earlier the car would have been on a busy 60mph road and almost certainly have gone up in smoke.
  11. This happened to our car (66 plate Fabia 1.2) last night, sprayed high pressure fuel all over the engine but luckily did not ignite. Got it recovered back home and upon investigation this is what we found. Top right hand bolt on fuel rail loose, bottom bolt head sheared off completely and discovered resting on the lower crankcase flange so can only just have happened. Number one injector ejected from head by 3 or 4mm. Number two injector also loose and partially out. Fuel rail brackets not paralell to one another and holes way to big for M6 bolts they look more like 8mm. Bolts actually only biting on about 40% of the available cap head of the bolt. Very poorly manufactured item and obviously when bolted to a flat object (cylinder head) one or more bolts are under excess strain due to the bolt flanged not being parallel. No flat or spring washers on the rail bolts (or thread locking compound). The engineer in me says there should either be flat and spring washers or mushroom headed bolts used with anti vibration serrations under the heads...... Bolts are marked 8.8 but look like chinese rubbish. If they are stainless its really low grade as I retrieved the snapped off bolt head with a magnet! Something not right with the white seal on number one injector, it appears to have been crushed or not fitted correctly. Green flexible seal split almost right through. Skoda being less than helpful as car has not been main dealer serviced every year (only done 20k), nearest dealership is 20 odd miles away and car is obviously not drivable. Can't tow it as no PAS or brakes and sprays petrol everywhere with the ignition on. Wife is a key worker and needs it asap to get to work. What are my chances of getting anywhere with Skoda UK?
