  1. Weirdly after going through the same process in January and having been assured that ny 12 volt battery was fine, I got a low battery warning this morning. Now I have to try and get Skoda to replace the battery, as I think it must have a shortened life from the previous lack of charging and constant discharging
  2. Absolutely no chance. Customer service here is not exactly outstanding but the dealer knows that if my battery fails in the near future they will have to replace it. That is a fight for another day ..
  3. My car was updated last week. The garage confirmed that the software update to the gateway module was specifically to address the problem I had been having, where the 12 volt battery is completely discharged. The 12 volt batterywas checked and is apparently ok. So i anyone is experiencing a total discharge of the 12 volt battery, there is a known issue and a software update available.
  4. If I do not charge my car for 2 days then my 12 volt battery is either flat, or it gives low battery warning messages. So not everyone will need a new battery, it is just that mine has suffered previously and is now dead
  5. My car is going to the dealer next week to have the software update applied and probably a new 12 volt battery fitted
  6. An update. Dealer has told me this morning that there is a new recall to deal with the problem of the 12 volt battery discharging under certain conditions. Apparently it is a software update. At least Skoda acknowledge that there is a problem. Once I have more info I will share it here
  7. Sorry I should have included that. I am in the Algarve, Portugal
  8. Just to let you know that I had this work carried out last year after applying lots of pressure to Skoda. It took 2 days, mine was the first car to have this work completed so the mechanic said that it took longer than it normally would.
  9. I have just checked. Hybrid is charging and the voltage at the battery terminals is 13.1 volts. When charging stops the voltage is 12.6 volts. I think that the charging system is working correctly but the battery was already damaged from the 18 months prior to the recall (when it was not charging correctly).
  10. Ok. So realistically how long should we expect a battery to last for? Mine started to fail after a year and a half
  11. So if I understand correctly the problem has never been solved as you have to constantly charge the battery?
  12. That is interesting. Is there any way to find out if my car is affected? Do you have a copy of the TPI? Thank you
  13. yes as the 12 volt battery needed to be charged
  14. I had the opposite problem. When my car came back after the recall the coolant tank was overfilled. I queried this and was told that Skoda had instructed the dealership to do this.
  15. Despite having had the 27j6 update, my 12 volt battery is still discharging. The car has refused to start on two occasions. Can I ask if anyone has actually found a permanent solution to the problem? I don´t even get a warning any more that the 12 volt battery is low, the first indication that I have a problem is when the car fails to start. I am hoping that a new 12 volt battery will solve the problem, but my dealer is refusing to change this under warranty. Has anyone had a battery replaced under warranty? Such a shame as it is a great car. video of the latest failure
  16. Hi My car has this problem which should be resolved by the 27j6 update. However Skoda Portugal are saying that the update is not available in Portugal. Has anyone not in the UK had this problem, and subsequently had the update applied? Thanks
  17. Thank you, that works for me and at least that way I can switch to the radio and adjust the volume
  18. Sadly that doesn't work
  19. Previously (before one of many software upgrades) I was able to alter the volume for android auto announcements. When (for example) a text message was being read out, if I adjusted the volume a different icon appeared and I could then alter that volume without affecting the media volume. I can no longer alter the volume of any android auto announcement, it is fixed (and too quiet). Has anyone found a solution to this?
  20. After one of the many software updates, I can no longer adjust the volume of android auto announcements (WhatsApp/SMS). Previously when I was playing back a notification I could adjust the volume (a different icon appeared next to the volume level). Any one have a solution for this?
  21. Hi The connectivity module replacement is what started my problems. Skoda did not tell the garage that they had to update the software as well as changing the module. As of last week, my car was updated to version 2xxx (i think 2088) and all now works ok. If your dealership doesn't know about this, then call SiVA (the importer) and complain. They will push the dealer/Skoda. It took me 3 attempts to get my cat working, but SIVA should have that information.
  22. one more software update (now on version 2088) and all is fixed and back to normal
  23. After a recent service update, my car has developed a weird Bluetooth problem, and I wondered if anyone else had found a solution to this. Android auto connects as normal, and all is fine until I make or receive a phone call. Then the Bluetooth connection randomly drops, then reconnects, sometimes two or three times. Once it has dropped X times it is then ok. Any ideas of how to fix this?
  24. after a software update all is (nearly) fixed. Bluetooth disconnects and reconnects during a call, which is not at all handy. Moral of this story-if you have a hybrid and the gateway needs to be changed, ask if they have the software update to go with the hardware
  25. Mechanic has now had the training course. Car needs to be in the garage for at least 2 days to carry this out and (as usual) there is no courtesy car during this time. But they don´t have the special tools needed to complete the work, nor the parts, so apparently it will not be carried out soon. Maybe not even this year!
