  1. looks like mine needs the first one. How much training can you need to fit a rubber mat???
  2. Apparently the dealer needs to configure the new gateway. Why this could not have been done at the time is a mystery to me. Back to the dealer next week.
  3. I also have an outstanding fix, and all the dealer would say that it is related to the hybrid battery, and that they didn't have the training yet to carry out the fix. I was assured that it does not affect the safety of the car....
  4. A word of warning to those with hybrids. My car had a recall to change the communication gateway, as a precaution. After the gateway was changed, the entertainment system/android auto was disabled, as was cruise control, the hybrid mode button (so impossible to alter hybrid mode) and voice control. Apparently the dealer was mystified and I had to take the car as is. Currently waiting for Skoda Europe to let the dealer know how to fix it! There is also a pending recall relating to the hybrid battery, but the dealer does not have the necessary training to carry this out yet. Not impressed, but then customer service is less than wonderful at the dealer
  5. The reduced charging current is just over 1.2kw. I can see this on my monitoring system at home. I have no idea what happens if you don't set off peak or departure time, but I would presume that the car will just charge to full once it has been plugged in.
  6. Reduced current charging applies to all charging until you alter the setting to maximum. Departure time-the car will make sure that it starts charging soon enough to have the car 100% charged by this time. Off peak allows you to restrict programmed charging to that time period. As an example, my car is set to charge to 30% as soon as it is connected. Once it reaches 30% it will not start charging until the off peak hours. It will work out what time it needs to start charging to be 100% charged by 8am.
  7. Thank you. Roads are generally good here, and I live in the Algarve so it is pretty much always summer! I have been happy with the tyres so I think I will stick with the Bridgestones
  8. After 25.000km the front tyres on my hybrid are coming to the end of their life. The car is fitted with Bridgestone Turanza tyres. They have been good and I am planning to use the same tyres again, unless anyone else has any suggestions in relation to better tyres. Any suggestions?
  9. Sorry I should have said that I am using Android Auto.
  10. anyone have any other experience with this? I have about 2/3rds my contacts synced. Oddly they all show up as duplicates (so where Mrs X has a phone number of 123456789, it shows that she has two phone numbers, both the same)
  11. Just picked the car up. And i quote: If it does it again, bring the car back to us immediately and we will order a new mechatronic unit, under warranty. But there is nothing wrong with the car that we can see??? Not very reassuring.
  12. Apparently there is nothing wrong with the car, just a glitch with no other fault. Let's wait and see...
  13. So yesterday car was taken to main dealer for three software updates. Whilst driving today the gearbox went into emergency mode, with no reverse gear available. As I had stopped in a place where I needed to reverse to get out (stupidly) I had to call recovery. Once the car was jacked up (to put dolly wheels under the front wheels) the gearbox released itself (I saw the movement in the front wheels when the weight was taken off them). The car then was able to drive normally, but with an error symbol, so off it went back to the dealers. Anyone else had problems with the DSG gearbox? I have done 22,000 km. Dealer is adamant that none of the updates yesterday were anything to do with the gearbox, I am waiting for their diagnostics.
  14. Despite many attempts (and three different phones) I can not get all my contacts to synchronise with my car. It seems as if newer contacts synchronise, but some (and only some) older contacts do not. There is no rhyme or reason to this as far as I can see. Anyone else had the same problem?
  15. My car let me know there was an update yesterday and it installed it. I have absolutely no idea what has been changed/updated, is there any way to find out?
  16. I got the snow brush too. Really useful in the Algarve!
  17. Do you have the navigation enabled? I don't, and I wonder if it only works with navigation?
  18. Apparently an add on app that warns you about traffic issues and notifies you if you drive the wrong way up a sliproad. I am in Portugal but it looks like it should be available in the UK https://www.skoda-storyboard.com/en/press-releases/introducing-the-skoda-auto-traffication-infotainment-app-with-traffic-warning-alerts-across-the-board/
  19. Has anyone downloaded the traffication app and got it to work? All I get is a spinning circle
  20. I also registered initially, but this seems to be linked to the update. Will let you know if anything actually happens now!
  21. Had to log in to Skoda connect and then confirm primary user in the car (you need both keys). Now just waiting for something to happen....
  22. Mine was Castrol Pro 0w 20
  23. Hi. Has anyone had the first (oil change) service on a PHEV? I was charged €360 today for what is an oil and filter change, plus a verification of the car. The bulk of the cost was oil (4 litres @€40 per litre). would be interested to know what other people have paid. thanks
  24. I had exactly the same problem, it needed a software update and then all was fine
  25. It might not be relevant but just in case. If I have my mobile phone in the same pocket as the key, then keyless entry does not work. As soon as I separate the key from the phone all works normally
