1.5DSG vs 1.6TDI DSG
Had my 1.5dsg petrol Karoq from new and its just past 10k after having it a year. Long term MPG shows 43.5mpg which is acceptable I think for a petrol SUV. Sometimes see 50mpg on a trip if I drive like my Dad...

Vehicle can be locked with door open.
As far as i know the emergency call system relies on the inbuilt SIM card in the car. Up here in Scotland there are some blackspots (especially in the Highlands) where mobile signal drops out completely so my guess is that you entered the twilight zone temporarily. I assume it came back on green at some point later?

Undocumented Feature
Agreed KennyR but this is rather a jab on and off again instantly. Not the same as a jab for power which you continue to hold.

Undocumented Feature
Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere but it concerns coasting while in Normal (D) mode on the 2021 SE L DSG ACT 1.5. I remember a question around whether other owners had noticed this happening in D or only in Economy mode and I had certainly noticed it but it seemed random (unlike in E when it disengages and coasts as soon as you lift your foot off the gas). Anyway, to cut to the chase I have (accidentally) found a way to make it go into coasting (if that's something you want to do) in D - whilst rolling along in gear as normal lift your foot off the gas and then give the accelerator a quick light jab with your foot. That seems to force it into coasting and the console shows D (rather than D6 or D7 or whatever) and "Eco" also shows in the display. I quite like coasting when it's safe and appropriate to do so as it helps with the MPG, take it or leave it I guess. Anyone else noticed this? Cheers, Ed

Amundsen DAB Presets
Found it. In settings there are options for switching stations, either "station list" or "preset list". Then the left and right thumb buttons on the left had controls on the steering wheel flip between your presets. Easy when you know how 😜. Thanks!

Cheers Chris, will have a look and report back 😎

Amundsen DAB Presets
So, 1st world problem I know but... I can't find a way to scroll through my DAB presets from the steering wheel controls. When on the presets screen and using the wee thumbscroll it scrolls through ALL the available DAB stations rather than just my R6, Kerrang, Planet Rock, 5 Live, RScotland etc etc. I was used to this on the Leon, it just worked but not so on the Karoq. Anybody found a way round this? I don't like having to take my eyes off the road to switch channels on the touchscreen.

A few thoughts after it’s first wash!
Can someone elaborate on the s hook magnet mod please if it relates to securing the rear seats when they are flipped down and forward? I can just about hook the side seats to the front headrests but there is no danger I can hook the middle one, there's just not enough length!

Coasting
Late to the party but yeah mine coasts in normal mode under certain conditions too, MY21 SEL 1.5. I don't mind it at all and managed 52mpg on the trip from Glencarse to Dundee earlier in the week, first time it's hit 50+ since new last month 😀

Uncomfortable drive - Karoq
That's a shame ianbenny, there's a lot of adjustments you could make that should get you comfortable so hopefully you will get there soon. I've done 900 miles in my first month which included a 300 mile road trip in week one which allowed me to find a good driving position eventually. I guess it all depends on your height and build, I'm 6ft and lanky with fairly long chimpy arms but I do need the armrest raised to its highest position and can rest my other arm on the door handle bit.

Coasting
Aye, I wondered! I could coax up to 70 out of my TDi Leon when the DPF wasn't trying to regen 😜

Coasting
How, in the name of the wee man, are you managing to get 66mpg in a Karoq? I like to think I drive economically but in the 3 weeks and 750 miles I've covered since getting my MY21 1.5tsi SEL DSG I am only getting around 41 at best!

That's the fella, mine went straight in the kitchen cupboard of things to be forgotten about.....

Paddle Gears, Umbrella and Cup holder
I have the exact same car and note no paddles or torch but umbrella safely stashed in wee cubby under the front passenger seat. All as expected as I saw posts on here that mentioned the changes to the MY21 models. Oh, and my free mug fits perfectly in the cup holder too!

Karoq pictures
Took delivery of my brand new 21 plate TSI 1.5 SL last weekend after a short wait (it was already "at the port" and built) and am loving it so far. 400 miles in after a great roadtrip across the country last week from home in the east of Scotland to the west and enjoying the ride, comfort, spec, everything really! Had the transit tyre pressure issue, hadn't been reduced at the dealers but realised immediately and let out air to the recommended PSI. They were at 52, should be around 34! Notified dealer and told them it might not be a big deal for me as I keep an eye on things but could be potentially hazardous (or uncomfortable at least) for those who will assume all is well when they drive off the forecourt and not bother checking. No torch on the MY21 model as noted elsewhere but all good otherwise, quite liking the new steering wheel with the missing spoke. Quartz Grey is lovely, glad I chose it over business grey in the end .

New car spec slightly changed from advertised.
Waiting on a call from dealer to collect the exact same car also in Quartz Grey next week, looking forward to it! Yours looks great! Have enjoyed my Leon for the last 3 years (also DSG) but wanted to get back to a bigger SUV type having had 2 X-Trails previously. They were not the most reliable cars I've ever had but I loved the high end spec and the SE L Karoq covers all the bases and has that not flashy but more utilitarian and practical feel I wanted. Swithered over business grey and quartz grey but I think I've made the right choice.
