Cheers Darrell, Does anyone know what's involved in the Shark Stage 2? i.e. is it just £499 for stock to stage two or do you have to pay for both the stage 1 and stage 2 and is an tinkering require e.g. new filters or hoses?

Hi all, anyone know what the strange symbol is on my maxi dot display? It doen't seem to eb mentioned in teh manual, but it looks like a " O " with a " / " through it. It's only visible when the mpg or average speed are being displayed. Cheers

Undercutting both Skoda and fleabay J Looking at the service history, I presume it’s on a <20k service interval. Does that sound right and how much should I be expecting to fork out for the next service?

They've been holding their value surprising well... real for replacement are 'asking' £5.5-6k private and £6-6.5k dealer... I'd be happy with £5.5k.

Thanks for the replies. Actual replacement cost would be somewhere between £5.5k and £6.5k The car was Fabia VRS SE, excellent condition (not so much post crash), 82K miles. FSH, I owner... From the advance valuation from glass (where you add mileage and spec): The private valuation is £4600 and retail is £5500. So the insurance company have offered us the private sale value. However, we think £5.5k seems to be a 'fair' price to be based on what's actually available on the market, the Glass's valuation, what we insured it at (although irrelevant for write-off purposes apparently) and what the FO's guidance says. So I suppose the question is are we being realistic?

Sadly my dearly departed Fabia VRS SE is in a recovery yard somewhere in Scotland. Fortunately I now have a bigger, better, bluer octavia sat on my drive. I've gone for the 2010 FL manual diesel. it's got just over 40k on the clock and the columbus satnav/radio and rear parking sensors. What do I need to know / check / start saving up for? My first question is...It doesn't have a spare wheel, looking on skoda parts, it seems to be a space saver (either a 15 or 16 inch rim) have I got the right part? Now that my poor little Fabia VRS SE has been written off, I'm after a replacement. The preferred option is looking like a 1-3 year old diesel Mk II Octavia VRS. Possibly a Blackline edition if I can find one in budget. What do I need to know / look out for? I saw on some other posts the FL engine mentioned. Is that another deisel variant, if so what's the difference? Thanks in advance

Hi Guys My Fabia just failed its MOT on Front suspension arm bushes. The guy at the test centre mentioned it was a common problem on VAG models due to poor bush design, and that there was an upgrade availble. Does anyone happen to know if this is true, and if so what the various part numbers are please?

Can my local mechanic get the code from the ecu, or is it a trip to skoda? (no sign of radio code in any of the manuals sadly)

Just bought a pair of autsocks for my furby vrs for £68 delivered. I'm up to the NW highlands over Christmas, so may be able to post a review in the new year.

Looks like I need a new pump on my VRS-SE too. does anyone have a link to th GSF part? lowest I've found so far is £540 inc from bickertons for the part, and 150 inc from my mechanic to fit it. (the pumps getting power to it, and the fues are OK). I'm picking it up later today, so will ask about the sensor.

Hi guys, I currently drive a Fabia VRS SE, and am thinking about a getting matching Octavia vrs. The only thing putting me off really (as petty as it seems) is the accelerator pedal on the octavia. I've had couple as courtesy cars in the past, and don't like the "bumper car" style accelerator pedal that the octavias come with: i.e. this style Is there an easy/cheap way of swapping it for a standard style pedal? Hi All My warrenty has just run out, and have used Grasmere for all of my servicing etc for the last three years. Up untill losing the Skoda Sale Franchise, I had nothing but praise for them. Since losing it, I've been distinctly unimpressed with the standard of service. Now the warrenty is up I'll be using my local mechanic for any work required.
