  1. Ok..a few of the thin wires are broken and others look rough...I'll look for the VIN number
  2. Ok thanks, I thought that I did read somewhere that Skoda improved the loom with all the door trouble, hoping that the new part is better.
  3. I have got to repace my loom soon, the passenger side window does not work of the switch on the drivers side, on investigation I have found the wires are broken in the door rubber boot part. My loom has the part number 5J0.971.120.BL on it, I have seen new replacement on SKODA PARTS DIRECT for a little over £90 that has the same part number but ends in HG not BL would this be ok? is this the modified loom? my fabia is the mk2 1.9 tdi 2010....Also could somebody tell me what size rivets I would need to refit the speaker if I have a crack at this repair?
  4. Many thanks for the replies , plenty to think about.
  5. My new to me 2010 fabia 1.9 tdi sits on 205/45-16 tyres , its the first car I have had with low profile wheels, would a change to 195/55-15 be better/much better, or just a little. the car will soon need some new tyres so would money be better spent on new 16's and if so what brand ones could be recommended in the mid price bracket for all weather driving...Im no speed muchant!!..And thanks for letting me join the forum.
