Thanks for the part numbers. You're right about back plates as mine have definitely seen better days. I was hoping to remove them to give me more access to the speed sensors but the screws were really badly corroded in and I was short on time as my wife needed the car. I'm going to order a pair of plates up and will probably end up drilling the screws out and retapping the threads.

Yeah I used copper grease like you for the sensors. I'll be getting around to the swing arms and bushes at some point too.

By coincidence I had an ABS fault recently which was caused by a faulty front speed sensor so I ended up replacing both of them. They were completely siezed in so I ended up carefully drilling them out. I drilled down about a centimetre theh heated the end of a screw which was inserted into the remaining length of the sensor and it popped out with no damage to the bearing. I lubricated the new ones well so their removal should be easy. Out of interest I used Febi replacements and they've been working fine. I'll be sure to clean off any corrosion as you suggest. Also with sensor fault the DSG box was awful on changes. Apparently the mechatronic uses a speed sensor input. It was back working beautifully again after the sensors were replaced.

Thanks for the quick reply and info Alasdair 1. I didn't know about the PR codes but now I've checked them all and unfortunately the sticker doesn't have what I need. I've visited the link you've provided where there's a chose of two part numbers but as I don't have the PR code I can't be sure which part I need. They really don't make it easy! Regarding the puller is it a Gen2 puller that's required? Thanks for your help.

Hi there. I hope I've not missed something obvious on your forum, but does anyone know how to find OEM part numbers? My 2011 Fabia 1.2TSI front wheel bearings are getting very noisy. I've looked on various motor factor websites having input my car reg but there seem to be different dimension assemblies availabe. The only thing I suppose I could is to remove one the bearing/hubs and measure it up but my wife can't afford to have the car off the road while I order a spare part. I've tried Catcar info but there's no numbers there. The local dealer won't give me any help which is fair enough. Is there a reliable EPC available to help please? Thanks in advance.

Hi Alasdair. Thanks for the reply. There's some options then dependant on price. I'll have a look for TYLL and if not I'll give Bosal a go. If they last 5 years I'd be very happy as some I've bought fail shortly after the warranty period. Thanks again.

Hi there, my rear box has finally given up the ghost so I'm looking for a half decent replacement. I don't want to fork out for a genuine OEM one as the seem quite pricey. In the past I've bought exhaust parts from a manufacturer beginning with a K and found them to be really poor. A mate of my son works in their technical department and he says he wouldn't use them. So if anyone has any suggestions of makes and suppliers they've found to be good quality I'd love to know. Thanks in advance.

The hose from the PCV to the maybe jet pump is dated 29/04/11, the cross firewall hose 08/04/11 and the one from the pump to engine 11/04/11. I can't see any numbers on the valves and I'm a little bit reluctant start undoing stuff and potentially damaging or splitting the plastic pipes as the one to the PCV was already cracking. I've just checked the engine number on the V5 document and it matches the one on the sticker on the engine.

The setup on my Fabia looks like yours but with an additional branch off to the PCV valve. the first photo shows the hose to the servo. In the 2nd is the cross firewall hose to the three way junction. The 3rd is the bottom connection of the three way junction and the hose leading to the rear of the engine. The last photo is the hose from the third port of the junction going to the PCV valve. I'm the second owner of this car which was owned by a Vicar down the country from me so I don't know whether it's had a replacement engine fitted previously. With the exception of the brake servo pressure sensor G294, it looks very like the Audi setup with the suction jet pump you mentioned before.

Thanks for your research into this. I don't recall seeing a connection but I'll confirm tomorrow when it's light and take more pictures.

This is a photo of where the second hose goes to. It splits into two with a plastic hose connecting to the brake servo, and the second leads round the back of the engine.

Hi there. This is my first post here. I wonder if someone can confirm that this is a PCV valve as it looks different to all the ones I can find online that are listed for my engine. The one fitted has three ports with one plastic pipe and a rubber hose, whereas all the ones I can find only have one for the breather pipe and the other pushes into the grommet. The plastic pipe to the right in the picture had split in numerous places so I put some heatshrink round it as a temporary measure. It's now replaced with 10mm id silicon hose. The grommet itself had turned to mush and has been replaced. I'm not sure which version my engine is as it was built around the changeover period. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
