i agree. this is the most annoying thing. i'm in and out of my car all the time and am usually late so need to see the clock to see how far behind i am. so every time i have to press the stupid button. it's driven me crazy! happily Dilligaff is right. turn the engine on, it will display temp, press it once so it displays the time, then press and hold for about 8s. first it will flash to say you can change it, ignore that and keep holding it. after a few more seconds it will stop flashing. release it, turn it off and on again and you should have the time as the default setting.
