  1. Just to confirm that the change of steering wheel on my first batch car (autumn 2020) fixed the issue. Sorry for the delay - have moved on to to full electric Enyaq.
  2. I can give some more details. I reported the issue a couple of times to my local dealers service department late autumn last year. They logged technical data from my car and sent it to the Danish importer. In february the did some more testing of my car and then they concluded a new steering wheel was necessary. But if that is the right solution I do not know before is has been replaced and testet. Maybe this fix is only relevant for cars delivered as part of the first Octavia IV batch which was in autumn 2020?
  3. I can also confirm that the official fix from Skoda includes a replacement of the Steering Wheel. I am still waiting in line at my dealer to get it replaced but hopefully this is the final fix.
  4. My Octavia IV recently had a factory recommended update of the part that controls the charging of the 12V battery. And it is correct that low battery on the 12V side will also require a start of the engine as described above. I also received an amendment to the printed manual regarding the change.
  5. I think what happens is that by accelerating fast on to the Motorway you request more power than the battery can provide in normal e-mode. If this happens the car automatically shift to Hybrid mode. Then you cannot return to e-mode without stopping the car and turn it off. I tried this several times ;-) If you let the adaptive speed function handle the acceleration it should not happen. I do that most of the time and it is quite relaxing at the same time.
