My sensor, behind the grille, also has a small square mirror on it (my phone's camera is reflected in it) along the top edge I suspect a physical calibration requires a laser at a set height shines it's beam into the mirror and then the position of the reflected point of light is used to direct the application of adjustments by turning the adjustment screws. Seems like errors are needed to be cleared in software first though if the recent comments are correct

Radar sensor plug ? It is the plug which plugs into the ACC radar sensor behind the grille Warning codes mentioned alread 'ACC not available' Device error "0267 - Sensor for Automatic Distance Regulation; Incorrectly Positioned " (Due to recent replacement and requirement for calibration)

Thanks for the tips, although those calibration jigs seem to be for visual sensing systems. My ACC sensor is not camera based but seems to be a microwave radar type device. I suppose it could have an infrared camera in their which might see through the layers of plastic in front ?

Actually I changed the grille for one with a cutout for the sensor today. When i said solid i meant a complete plain grille with no aperture for the radar to see through. I think the Cat N repairer just decided to disable the ACC and fit a normal grille as a cheap option. There was the remnants of the old ACC radar sensor bolted to the bracket behind the grille (front end impact) I'm a service technician and qualified instrument /automation engineer so I'm up for it....what does an ACC calibration target look like ? Maybe I could build or simulate one somehow

Sorry if it's a double post. How can I calibrate my new ACC sensor (it coded in correctly and seems to be responding) ? When I go for the VCDS adjustment procedure the unit replies with fault code 7f 2f 81 'Unit has rejected your request' It would be good to know what adjustment preconditions need to be met, if any

I bought an S3, with a solid front grille, although it has the ACC stalk. I believe it was initially built with ACC as an option on this vehicle , a 2016 model. I found a spare radar sensor, plugged it in, coded it with VCDS, but have an error referring to calibration When I try to initiate the adjustment procedure I get a message 'unti has rejected the request', and error code 7f 2f 81 What's the best way to proceed ? I need to calibrate the position of the sensor I guess (the car had been in a front end shunt, CAT D, but repaired (on a tight budget I think) Any advice appreciated, can I calibrate the sensor with just VCDS ?

Hello, I picked up a Superb 3 which was apparently ex police, that is the reason why the boot will not open except with the remote control fob (not boot switch), I was told. After downloading latest VCDS and acquiring a genuine cable I've been able to play around with a few things, Gizmo's guide has helped, especially with improving throttle response, and at one point I think I've enabled the boot/tail controller, although the car does not have a self closing boot lid, and now, I can't find the parameter in particular which I need to change back. So that's my first issue, after looking through (I think) all options I can't find where to enable/disable the boot controller, or , disable the boot lid button on the basic boot lid. My other problem is that the car had previously had ACC cruise control, but when I got it I found it had had a front end repair and a standard grille, not an ACC grille with cutout was fitted. The ACC sensor was removed but it's mount and harness are present. I bought a secondhand ACC/Dist sensor and after doing a few scans seem to have got it addressed properly on the CAN bus, but still seem to have another fault, "Front assist not available". So I guess I need to do some more research there too, possibly calibrate it. Any help appreciated, (especially with the boot lid (I've checked the wiring to the boot lid inside the rubber shield for broken wires but the harness looks fine) Cheers Chris

Shame, mine currently has no ACC sensor attached, so if front assist is enabled I get a constant 'stop/start system' error, until I get around to coding the new sensor into the system

I think if you go into the Car settings menu you can turn off front 'assist', which will take away the message. It should 'probably' pass an MOT anyway, but I think that disabling it before an MOT negates the whole problem neatly

I am a recent keeper of a 2016 Superb 2.0tdi estate, Business SE model; First impressions were good compared to the VW Golf I drove previously, except more comfortable (compared to the Golf's offset pedals), but given it's 92k miles when I got it the front suspension did it's best impersonation of a boat in high seas, nodding up and down. I bit the bullet and fitted Bilstein B6 front and B4 at the rear. It could probably handle some track time now I'm a mobile engineer and have done 5000 miles in it since July all over the country (hence why good suspension is important to me, for my safety...), and have had to eat the humble pie due to my previous childish prejudice against this brand, because I remember the old Skodas in the 80's, they weren't great. But to Skoda's credit, the range of sporting accessories you could buy over the counter from the dealer network put the other manufacturers to shame.. ("Flame spitting rally exhaust for your 130 Estelle, Sir ? Over here on this shelf.....") ....but anyway, it's a great car, well done VW/Skoda ! It's ex police, the previous owner bought it from the force following Cat-N damage, which was repaired. He thought it felt faster than 150HP and that the police have custom maps. To me, it feels about 150, and to be honest I think he was more desperate to sell than I was to buy so he was hyping it up too much ;) . At some point I'm going to download the map and send it to some tuners to get their opinion. Because if it's standard I'll probably upgrade a bit (for economy) , but if it's already a tuned map I'll leave it alone to spare the gearbox/clutch I don't need such a big car, but it appeared at a rock bottom price. I had an idea that it's heavy weight would pull down economy but it seems to return the same mpg as the 1600 Golf it replaces. Comparing the speedo to a satnav it over reads by a few percent, so when the satnav displays 60mph the speedo says 63mph, 5% too high, so I guess it's reporting mpg with a 5% error too, but that's splitting hairs. I could always ditch the 17" alloys and fit 19" (perhaps it left the factory with 19's ?), and maybe the speedo would be corrected then? Chris
