Hi ScottyNS, eBay touch in stick did the business for me. Such a small area that it doesn’t show up any brush strokes. A Stanley blade, or even a ‘borrowed’ kitchen knife will take care of the foam.

The sponge, which is quite dense, does compress when the damper sits on top of it. My fear was that overtime it might distort the damper. Lowering the bonnet to offer up the damper to the sponge meant it was easy to see just how much I needed to remove. Two secs with a sharp knife, job done. The area I removed is clearly visible on the photo.

Back from my holidays and now fitted the new bonnet dampers on . I made a small cut in the foam so that the dampers sit without any pressure on them when the bonnet is closed. Very pleased with the result. Thanks again for all the info. Really pleased with the result.

Hope you got to take it out the Complex for a proper test! Wonder if they’ve ordered any? Cheap replacement for the Beemers with similar performance figures and good load capacity. I’m loving mine!

Thanks, first Skoda. I had a Golf Mk8 light hybrid before this and no matter how much I tried I just couldn’t enjoy it, so after six months I traded it in against the Skoda, which is more old school and more to my liking.

Thanks for the add. Ive recently purchased a low mileage 2019 petrol vRS five door with the DSG box. Giving me loads of smiles to the gallon so far!
