I believe that this means 7th week of 2023. Are you sure that they mean July? Because my last update, just before I cancelled the order was 16/22, meaning 16th week od 2022. I even got a screenshot of that, thats from their software.

Finally Skoda called me about the fire. They are admitting that they don't have a "plan B" supplier for those parts and to expect further delays. What's most important, they stated that they understand if we're unable to wait that they are ready to return the deposit in full. I paid for the new Mazda 3 sedan yesterday, I'm expecting it by the end of the week, worst case scenario early next week. If not for you guys I would still be waiting and in the dark. I've been waiting for 5 1/2 months, I'm done. I'll stick around to check what's going on with you guys. Skoda, right car, wrong time.

I paid the deposit on the Mazda3 yesterday. Should be mine by the end of next week. I'll wait a few days before cancelling the Skoda, just to be on the safe side. I was really looking forward to the Octavia, maybe the 5th generation somewhere in the future...

I'm about to. I can't wait any longer. They told me 25 week of 2022 but they're not 100% sure about that. I ordered the car 14th of September. My baby is due in 2 months, we have an old 3 door Peugeot 206. My local Mazda dealer has a Mazda 3 sedan coming in by end of the month, the price is the same, it has more equipment. It's just less practical than the Octavia but I think we'll manage with just one kid. If I have another I'll change the car, hopefully the chip situation will be sorted by then. The dealer said that they give the deposit back, and it's just 1000 kuna, or ~ £120. On the contract it says they're not giving it back so we'll see when I call them.

What does "22 plates" mean and why is this worth the wait? I'm curious.

Contacted my dealer in Croatia, asked about the fire. She said they didn't recieve anything from the factory regarding further delays. Ordered on 14.9.2021. she sent me the screenshot, delivery date is 25th week of 2022., end of June. HOWEVER, when we spoke a month and a half ago, she told me that delivery would be late april/early may. So I would say that it was actually delayed. Even the screenshot says "Delayed 25/22" Then again, in the grand scheme of things, June would actually still be early because when I ordered the car they said 330 days waiting, meaning August 2022. This tells me that they actually don't know what they're doing and I am so close to canceling the order and going for a Mazda 3 sedan, there are a couple available at the dealers.

Just received a call from the sales rep (after I sent her an email earlier today). She said that the chip situation is not the best, but that it's somewhat better and that the cars have started coming in. I ordered mine beginning of september, initially quoted july/august delivery, now she told me it could be as early as april/may. Normally I would be excited with the news, however since I've been following this thread, I'm not holding my breath. We will see. The good news is that I wasn't pressuring or anything, just wanted to wish her well for the holidays and to check if there are some news from the factory. Nothing in it for her to lie and give me a sooner date since I've already excepted my fate and almost a year long wait.

No, they have to give me everything that we agreed upon, I as a customer do not care and should not care what model year is it. I know what I ordered and must get it.

Skoda have officially closed their factories for 2 weeks. In that period they plan to finish 10000 cars that were missing the final parts. After those two weeks they plan to resume the production. Not as bad as I thought.

A month ago. She told me that she is sending that to all buyers. My fathers boss is waiting for a Kodiaq, they initially told her february, but they have since informed her that they don't know when the car will come but that it won't be february.

I'm looking at aftermarket wheels for the Octavia 4. I want to go for the 18" . The factory width of the wheel is 7.5J. I found that most of the aftermarket wheels are sized 8J. If i keep the same tire size od 225/45 I know that the tires will fit on the new wheel. But will the wheels fit on the car? I calculated the difference on willtheyfit.com and got that the new wheel would be 6.3 mm closer to the suspension and that the outer rim will poke 6.3 mm more than standard. I understand all that in theory but I don't understand what that means in practice. Is this a lot? Will it be a problem? TL;DR version: I want to go from 225/45 7.5Jx18" ET48 to 225/45 8.0Jx18" ET48. Will they rub on the fenders or on the inside of the wheel arch due to the 12.6mm overall larger width or no?

Can someone please describe how the car is to drive? I went to the dealership on a saturday, the saleswoman was there alone so no opportunity for a test drive. I ordered the car on monday as she gave me a good deal and I knew the wait would be long so I didn't want to waste any time. It feels stupid to test drive it now when I've "bought" the car but I'm curious how is it to drive. How does the steering feel compared to other cars you've driven and what were those cars? Does is feel like a boat in the corners, or is it composed? Does it lean a lot? Is it prone to understeer? Are you satisfied with the handling. And most of all, write what type of a driver you are. I'm most interested in what the brisk drivers have to say because I like to drive a bit spirited sometimes. Guys with manuals, how is the gearbox? No VRS drivers though, I know that car feels great. (Sorry guys) I'm interested in normal models, with the torsion beam at the back.

Reading this I'm genuinely thinking of backing out. Due to long waiting times I was told that I can get the deposit back. I' very close to going to a Mazda dealership and to pick up a Mazda 3 sedan. It's not as practical but I doubt that the waiting times are so long.

Yeap, I would consider myself lucky if the car does in fact arrive in time specified. As I've said in my introductory thread, I have 2 more cars at home so waiting is not that big of a deal. But it kind of is because I have to drive my wife's 14 year old Peugeot 206. Not the most refined of cars to say the least. 😁

Hi everyone. My name is Filip, I'm from Croatia. To be honest, I was never a Škoda fan, but when my wife told me we were expecting I immediately sold my Mazda 3 (MOT due soon and I knew about the car production issues) and bought the new Octavia SportLine 1.5TSI. There wasn't a doubt in my mind which car to get as I believe the Octavia is still the best value for money in regards to quality and practicality. I am currently waiting for the car to be produced and will continue to wait for approx. 300 days as stated by the dealer. I expect that the baby will come sooner than the car but we'll manage until then. I currently drive my wife's Peugeot 206 as she works from home, and I have a Mazda MX-5 ND as a third car so it'll be easier to wait for the Octavia. My dad used to drive a Škoda Felicia a long long time ago and my grandmothers late boyfriend had a Škoda Favorit. See you in the threads!

Hi guys, found your forum today while I was researching something about the new Octavia. I just ordered mine 2 weeks ago, the lady said 300-330 days of waiting time. It's a manual 1.5 SportLine in Race Blue. I have a feeling that it will be a longer wait than what they claim.
