Changing rear brake discs and pads, notes and tips
Thanks for this guide. I've just done the rear discs and pads on my 2016 Fabia TSI, and it was useful info to prepare for the job. In my case I did need to remove the caliper brackets to get the new discs on. They actually use H8 bolts, and were a bit of a pig to get off. Not enough access for a breaker bar, ended up using a longish 8mm allen key with a bit of persuasion from a hammer.

Windscreen wipers stick at 45 degrees
Thanks for the replies, and sorry it's taken a while to respond. I haven't had a chance to measure the battery voltage or check with a scan tool yet - both good suggestions (though I would be surprised if the battery was the culprit). The service position is with wipers vertical, different to the position they stop at, so I don't think that's it. The stalk issue is an interesting idea, particularly as it's a common fault and the fault only happens in the intermittent position. Thanks again, will check battery and scan codes and report back.

Windscreen wipers stick at 45 degrees
I've had a problem with the wipers on my 2016 Fabia SE-L recently where on intermittent mode, the wipers sometimes stop at 45 degrees (see pic). It only happens on intermittent mode - never on continuous, or on single wipe. On average it happens every 7 or so sweeps, but be as often as twice consecutively, or as infrequent as one in 20 or so sweeps. Doesn't seem to be any pattern to it - e.g. how fast, how dry/wet the windscreen is etc. Each time it happens, I can either over-ride it by selecting continuous wipe, or wait for the next intermittent wipe which completes the cycle and stops the wipers at the bottom again. When it happens, I can hear the relay click, as if it thinks it has completed the cycle. I'm thinking it's something particular to the intermittent cycle, as it never happens otherwise. It seems odd that it doesn't ever happen on a single wipe, as I'd assume the operation is the same as a single wipe as part of an intermittent cycle. Anyone have any ideas? Does anyone know how the mechanism detects that the wipers are at the bottom to end each cycle?

KESSY starting issue after changing key battery
Good shout - the one in the faulty key read 2.91V, whereas another one from the same pack was 3.23V. Both Energizer batteries and well within their boasted 10yr shelf life! Just a dodgy one I guess. Glad it was easily resolved - thanks again for the advice.

KESSY starting issue after changing key battery
So the battery in my key ran out the other day... I unlocked the car fine with the remote, but when I went to start the engine, It said 'Key not detected' on the display. No problem, I touched the key on the Start/Stop button and started the engine that way, then carried on to work. Left the car unlocked in the work car park (couldn't be bothered to faff with the lock cover on the door) and then drove home in the same manner. Car was moaning every so often that the key wasn't found. Once home, I changed the battery in the key, and locked the car - no problems. Went to use the car again two days later. Unlocked no problem, but again on trying to start the engine it said 'key not detected'. Again I had to start the engine with the key next to the Start/Stop button. I have since tried using the key in the door lock to synchronise the key, but the remote locking works fine - so that isn't the issue. Tried the spare key and that works without a problem - so it's not a problem with the car, it's specific to that key. I have changed the key batteries before, although previously I've done it prior to driving the car when the old battery has failed. I can't imagine that I've damaged the key in any way this time around - it seems much more likely to be some kind of synchronisation issue. Anyone got any ideas on how I can get my key working again?
