  1. Hi, welcome. As this is a (UK) English language site posts are best in English, Google gives your post as - "Hello, I'm Pedro and I own a Skoda Octavia MK3 VRS 2.0 TDI 184 hp." As such, if you have not already seen them, along with all ther sections and subjects on Briskoda are Octavia Mk3 and Octavia Projects forums where you can see and ask about real world advice and information from Octavia owners and others. - https://www.briskoda.net/forums/ I hope this helps.
  2. Hi, welcome. If you have not already seen them, along with all the other subjects and forums on Briskoda is the Superb section with the Superb Mk2 and Superb Projects forums where you can find and ask about lots of real world information and advice from Superb owners and others. - https://www.briskoda.net/forums/ HTH.
  3. Hi, welcome.
  4. I've not got them now but the local VWŠkoda Dealersship(s?) that dun my wife's 2015 Fabia used to have a drawing of a splayed out car to note damage I can't remember now if it was on the "free health check" (lie) sheet or not, they scared my wife enough with that when looking for expensive unecessary work.
  5. Depends if the Dealership done a check of the bodywork and have marked anything down on any tick (lie) sheet or not then of course it could as you say have happened in their car park or since leaving them. In reality most probable outcome might be that it's up to you whether you live with it or just do what they would do and pay a mobile dent guy/person to take the dent out. Sod's Law if you pay to have it removed you'll get another dent on another (or same panel) sometime later. Another downside of fashion is very dark colour cars do tent to show up these things more especially when clean and polished. My wife had a very big dent put in the rear panel of her two-door car on the driver's side from a hit and p1ss off carpark incident, I said to forget about it ubtil it got hit again or when she was going to change car. About 18 months later she'd just had the car serviced at the Dealership and once again they had offered to do the work and given her a very good price quote (bodyshop must have been short of work) and she said she was having it done as she saw the dent everytime she got in the car as it was on the drivers said. Like an idiot I joked she'd probably get a dent on the repaired and paint panel within a couple of days, doh! She collected it at a lunchtime and on return home that night a face like thunder, sure enough small door opening dent on the same panel within hours of her collecting the car. I, unusually, wisely said nothing at the time. IIRC the small dent was still there when she got rid of that car. Last century I picked up a brand new car and within hours of first collecting that car someone open their car door on to it, my wife was with me at the time so knew these things can happen but that was my car and not hers so probably that made the difference. I thought about saying something to the man that done it but he was struggling to get a baby out of a back seat and I thought what's the piont it change anything that had happened or prevent it happening again as it was an accident not totally malicios or careless action from a selfish person. Hope that helps.
  6. Good calls on consulting the car's 'Owner's manual', muck on the sensor area of the windscreen and the FAQ answer. However from VW - "2. Switch off the engine and restart it after a while" - what computer engineering progress. 😆 😁 😄 The old "Have you tried switchin' it off 'n' on agen?" Many years ago my wife won a raffle prize for a Land Rover off-road driving experience and as we're not far from Rockingham Speedway she elected to take it there. Unfortuanately only BMW X5 things were available on the day but she stuck with it and being risk adversed took out the optional £20 insurance cover. The report paper at the end had "poor blue pole" as on the hill decent the vehicle slid into a blue pole and she was blamed for putting her foot on the brake pedal which she didn't (but unlike me she nearly always avoids confrontation) so didn't argue too much against it. Before the end of the course she recieved an apology as based on her denial they checked and it turned out "a sensor had mud on it" !! on what's supposed to be an off-road vehicle !! She wanted to drive a (proper) old Landie rather than some modern (at the time) German machine that drove her, another lesson learnt.
  7. i sit corrected, as you know I mix things up or reverse things and also have plenty opf brain-farts, I think I'd have been alright on the VW computer programing in-house and external teams. 😁 See what the fuel trim readings are after going through a full tankfull of higher octane (less ethanol, greater cleaning additive package) fuel and a few good Itailian-tune-up runs as the higher air and fuel volume with cleaners may at least help if not fully resolve your issue(s). petrol.pdf As for those that worry too much about mpg (and I'm not sure it's anyone that's here really) a small extra used now could save lots more in the future running of the car. For the purposes of checking, after a run looking at short term fuel at idle might only tell you if things have improved the live running data of the =/- swings along with looking at other live running data pionts might tell you more. For this a another person viwing this whilst the driver concentrates on driving is best. It may be better if youi get someone else to drive and you give instructions on what variations in driving you want or need for the loive data (wherte road conditions allow of course and not so easy when it's the verbal-handbrake operating the pedals). Good luck, let us know how you get on.
  8. Talking of time, that reminds me of the Back to the Future car. 🙂 The numerics have a period look, especially in green, but I would find them hard to read. Far from my taste in things but a neat finish and look to it.
  9. I'm not sure how accurate current clamps are. A specifically designed battery monitor is what say motorhome owners might use. It has been suggested before to buy a secondhand, or new, good quality battery monitor, as per the last links I put up, use it as required then sell it on to get some of it's purchace price back. My prefference is always to measure the battery directly, that is directly from the battery terminal posts or terminal post clamps if their connections have been confirmed as clean and secure with no (reasonable) drop between posts and clamps, as at this piont in time it is what is happening to the battery is what you want to know, then, if required, you will want to know the cause(s) of what is happening to the battery. That's how I see it anyway.
  10. To me that looks like the eyes of a robot looking around, first loooking at the passenger side then wondering what all those things are above its head. 🙃 😁
  11. By hovering mouse over Scout66 it shows the member last visited the site 8th October 2022, that doesn't necessarily mean that won't get your 'shout out' but it may do so if no reply from Scout66 in a reasonable time (and/or) take up Breezy_Pete's knd offer.
  12. If you are refering to the engine "water" (coolant) temperature dial with needle guage take little notice of that as it's 90 biased, for fully warmed engine you want 90+c on the oil temperature readout. Given all the rest that you have done running through a couple of tankfuls of higher octane petrol, for the higher cleaning additive packages rather than octane they have, would be an inexpensive test, possible cure, combined with a few sensible sustained Itialain tune-ups runs (higher revs, lower gears) at around national speed limits for say 20-30 minutes at a time to get bigger volumes of air and fuel through the engine and out of the exhaust and warm things. So probably dual or motorway roads unless you have good clear a and b roads to use where second and third gears can be held. All after engine is fully warmed up (90+c on the oil temperature). Some other quick thoughts - Was the running rich fuel trim short term or long term or both? Have you checked there are no outstanding updates for the car? Checked the lambda sensor readings? Did you check/clean clean the MAF sensor? Checked/cleaned the throttle body? Check/clean inside the air filter box and all tubing and trunking? Does the car have DSG? That's me out of simple, or any, ideas. Good luck.
  13. Well done. Original console looks alright, filling it with bells and whistles certainly isn't my thing but it's your money and car so only right you do what pleases you.
  14. For a standard car like yours the comparisions sites should still be able to offer reasonable premiums I'd have thought but you do need to play their algorythms and statistical information. The nearer you get to renewal date the higher the premiums get sweet spot is either 30 days before or around 23 to 25 days away IIRC, even a day difference can make a big jump in premium offered, I can assure you of that. If you have already put info in for quotes then they know this, some sites are owned by the same main companies (there's only 4 main underwriters IIRC anyway). Somethings alter the premiums like having or not acess to drive other cars, having or not other person(s) as named drivers, a change of job title or concern, being retired or unemployed, ect., ect. Obviously you must be truefull but some questions may have an option of answers for you. Accepting different levels of excess can make a difference but that might be within different bands for different policies. The day of the week and time of the day (or night) used to make a difference to the premium offered (or it used to) using different computers or devices or email adreeses I can't imagine makes any odds now. Personally we use TopCashback 'Compare' (which IIRC give the same as Compare the Market and possibly whichever other coparision site they might own - but the difference is Topcashback will give you back £45 (same policy order through them so genuine £45 back as a member, free membership if you want). We also got £38 back from our home insurance (building and contents). Our insurances are with good quality well established companies with extras on the car insurance (easily paid for by know £45 is coming back) never buy cheap insurance if you ever need to claim on it as these insurances then become unbelievably expenses in what you will lose. Good luck. - https://www.topcashback.co.uk/compare/car-insurance/
  15. ETA: in case you missed it I completely edited my last post. - Now is - Get someone else to operate the rear washer and see if the fluid comes from there, have rag(s) prepared to soak up fluid. I thought there might be a hose inside that but looking at my thumb now I think I might have had the scale of the photo wrong. 😄 I can't one-finger type fast enough.
