Car Scanner App (OBD2) with Enyaq
It certainly does. Thank you, that's a really clear explanation!

Car Scanner App (OBD2) with Enyaq
You seem to know what's what @TigerTony, from what you've said here and "in the other place", but I'm still confused! Others who've commented too are obviously expert in this! What is the difference between the OBDEleven product, the Veepeak BLE+, and the Ross Tech VCDS system? Do they all connect via Bluetooth to phones, or is the Ross Tech one just for laptops/Windows via USB, i.e. for use in the workshop? Do you use them for different things? For example configuring advanced settings not usually available and getting diagnostics, vs getting live battery information etc to feed into ABetterRoutePlanner? I'm completely new to this side of car connectivity! And my Enyaq was only ordered in December so I've got a long time to work out if this is a path worth going down!

Enyaq v Kia EV6 test
You'd think they'd sort a better solution for that! I'm really hoping they do get V2L working - my Enyaq won't be with me till the summer probably, so I'm hoping any changes required will be standard build by then! It won't be as handy as the EV6/Ioniq 5 for charging laptops when away from home (with the plug in the adaptor outside the car!) but it will give us more options when camping...

Enyaq v Kia EV6 test
I worked out that that was what you were referring to (the apparent external three pin socket) after I'd posted my first comment. I'm sure that what we can see in the photo isn't actually a three pin socket. It seems to be a picture of something. See the attached, taken from https://www.eurekar.co.uk/articles/2021-10-25/kia-on-charge-with-ev6

Enyaq v Kia EV6 test
I've just noticed what looks like a socket in the charging bay in the photo, so I've checked what the situation is! I guess this is what you were referring to? The EV6 does have a socket inside, under the back seats where your legs dangle. From outside, you use the adaptor in the main port. From the short video I watched: "however for safety reasons, it cannot be used while charging".

Enyaq v Kia EV6 test
Those things are not necessary with standard UK plugs as the live and neutral holes are closed until the earth pin is firmly inserted. In fact, by snapping the lower two pins off the plastic protector, you can insert it upside down into the earth hole and open the other two holes to stick your little fingers into... With regards to the EV6, if it is the same as the Ioniq 5, the three pin socket inside the car is also covered by a lockable sliding cover. Whether you can charge from it whilst the car is being charged externally, I don't know. But it would be strange if you couldn't!

New Enyaq
It might help that 80s seem to be rolling out faster than 60s, but if your option packs need particular chips that are in short supply, the car can get stuck whichever model you have

New Enyaq
That makes sense. I've seen others report that private buyers have until now been prioritised over lease buyers, but I don't think anyone can guarantee lead times either way!

Home charger reviews/resources
You'll only be charging when generating over 1.4 kW I think, if you want to be not using grid power. I understand that's a limitation of the charging standard rather than the Zappi. Still worth it in my opinion, but maybe not financially!
