Suspension Rattle
Does the car rattle all the time? Mine rattles/knocks but only when it has been stood in the cold (winter) for a while. I suspect it is anti roll bar bushes sticking when rigid due to cold and once moved a bit free up and the noise goes. When I got the car I had it checked by main dealers and independent specialists and they could find nothing wrong. 60k miles later it still does it (when cold and stood) but is no worse.

2017 Fabia Estate 1.0tsi 110 SE L - will these wheels fit?
My Mk3 (1.2 TSi 110) came with 16 inch wheels, but I swapped them for some 15 inch from a Rapide. They fit over the front disks but its not so easy to clean the inside of the front wheel as you can't get a brush betwen the disk backing plate and the wheel. The car rides much better with the higher profile tyres though.

Headlight unit removal
Would anyone happen to know if it is possible to remove the headlight unit without removing the bumper as I have a crack in the unit.

Replace front right headlight
Off topic but did the Skoda service centre say you needed a timing belt change? Guidance changed as of 1 July to be 15 years or 180 000 miles. If you have done this mileage then right to change it. If you haven't done this mileage and they advised you to change it I'd be asking them why.

Automatic wipers or not?
Interesting read. I did find when mine went wrong another youtube video saying to spray it in a different hole but when I tried that it only fixed it for a while before the fault reappeared. But the hole you have used I think will have better access. Issue with not taking apart is you can't grease the contacts after cleaning, though I did read some people chose not to grease them even after taking it apart. I greased mine and not wanting to tempt fate it has been 100% since. It was easier than I expected to take apart, issue I had was I reconnected my battery before putting it all back together to test things and that threw an airbag warning light which needed vcds to clear.

Issue with infotainment system
Thanks for your reply. After a little searching I think the display unit is 6V0 919 604 B. All buttons and layout point to that being the part number. Used ones are available on ebay but I'm guessing some coding would be needed? Tomorrow I will try disconnecting battery and see if that does anything, unlikely I know but will try.

Issue with infotainment system
Hello - the infotainment system on my car has an odd problem that I wondered if anyone else had expereinced? I searched some threads and saw some people with issues but nothing like mine. The screen switches on with the on off button, and the volume can be adjusted. However - the touch screen is not working, and if I press any of the 8 buttons that are to the left and right of the screen (e.g. Car, Radio, Media etc) then nothing happens, and the manual tune button on the unit does not do anything. With the the left hand buttons on the steering wheel I can still switch between AM, DAB, FM and change volume (but the volume button on steering wheel when pressed no longer mutes it) and the right button on the steering wheel I can manually tune. But the left button on the steering wheel where you can move/cycle through pre-saved stations no longer does this. It was fine before today - a 2015 car. Has anyone else had experienced anything similar to this? Is there a way to reset the unit? Maybe worth disconnecting battery for a few minutes? Unit starts up fine - no delays or anything.

New EFB battery 1.2TSi
I'm on my original in my 2015 car. I rarely use the car for short runs, and as long as I remember the first thing I do after starting the car is turn off start stop. So I think my usage pattern has helped the battery last and when I replace I will give it a go without coding it accepting that may not give me optimum battery life.

Fuel Leak!
I think above FC260 mentions they had the work done under a warranty they had. I think this thread mentions some costs much higher than this for the same issue so it then begs the question are they charging warranty companies a lot less then they do retail customers?

Are Fabias noisy?
See my edit above.

Are Fabias noisy?
I would class mine as quiet - same year as yours and same tyre size. Road noise will be tyre dependent of course. Louder possibly if tyres over inflated too. I swapped my rear and front wheels round recently to try and even up the wear and that made road noise terrible so swapped them back. Might be worth checking your tyres are ok as I do think the car is tyre sensitive - when I got mine the tyres it had on (factory fit originals) looked good condition with lots of tread but were noisy compared to what I have on now.

Fuel Leak!
From browsing this thread there doesn't seem to be many early Fabia MK3 effected, i.e. 2014/2015? They on the whole seem to be the years after - would that be a fair comment? Balazs_HU is a 2015 but that's an Octavia. Is that an early or late 2015 build?

No unfortunately not - I'm the other end of the country.

New EFB battery 1.2TSi
Thanks everyone for the advice. I think if I can get it coded for a small fee, I will. But if it's half the price of a Yuasa EFB to code I'll not bother as it will be more economical to accept a (supposed) slightly shorter battery life. @nta16My Fabia does have the slight clunks over bumps but only when the car is cold, and more so in cold weather. I have had this looked at by main dealers and independent specialists alike but they have said nothing is wrong, and it has not got any worse (or better) in 60k miles. Once I have driven a short distance it stops. I think (I am not an expert) it is the anti roll bar bushes. I think when the car is cold / not moved for a bit the ARB sticks in the bushes but after a couple of clunks frees up. That is the area of the car my noises seems to come from and both sides....

New EFB battery 1.2TSi
Sometimes, with VAG UK, understanding and indeed advice can change. For example, 12 months ago I was told by VAG UK my timing belt change was overdue. But I listened to some people on this forum who said it was nonsense, it was not like that in the rest of Europe, it was a VAG UK anomoly. Now VAG UK say it's not overdue and won't be for a long time. VAG UK also advise a lot of things we know aren't true, they advise they don't know there is an issue with injector bolts breaking for example. If you think it is wise to do as advised why did you buy a larger battery and of different spec to what VAG advise for your wife's Polo? I posted on here in the hope someone may chip in and say they did it with no coding and all went swimmingly, or the opposite, they didn't code and it caused an issue. Real life experiences, that I can make my own choice on whether to heed the advice, accepting I live with the consequences.
