Realised I was pressing the volume button in rather than the actual voice control button 🤦 ah well all good now. Still a little weird that it isn’t just listening for hey siri. I had a Sony after market unit in my old lancer and it worked perfectly.

I’ve come to the realisation that as someone who uses CarPlay all the time it feels like much of the virtual cockpit is a little useless besides looking very pretty. What useful stuff do you have it display whilst using CarPlay?

There is no roof cubby with the big sunroof unless I’m missing something.

So my 2019 VRS has the big sun roof and this no sunglasses holder, from what I can tell it’s where the controls go. Are there any other options? I remember years ago in the VAG world everyone was fitting one where the grab handle is. Is this an option still and is it possible to get it in black to match the roof lining?

So long press of the voice control does nothing. Very strange that just saying Hey Siri doesn’t do anything at all.

Unless there’s something I’m unaware of it won’t be the water pump as it’s typically just an impeller attached to a belt with it’s own bearing and no connection to the oil system. It’s a strange one as normally when you get oil in the coolant it goes a weird creamy colour. Possibly this is just fresh and you’ve caught it before it’s had time to happen. without being able to see touch and smell it I can’t speculate more than I have. Certainly get it checked.

From Cumbria originally with 10 years in the military and then 6 down under I’m sure my accent is a bit of a mess at this point as well ha. I will give the button a long press and see what happens next time I’m driving (I’m sure I won’t be able to stay away for long) But we’re saying ‘hey Siri’ doesn’t function in the car then?

So I picked up my 2020 registered 245 VRS today, loving everything about it so far. However I can’t for the life of me getting Siri to respond when using car play. Has anyone else succeeded? Where is the mic situated in the cabin? If I swipe from the bottom corner of the screen it activates and listens to my command just can get Hey siri to work.
