  1. hi i've just bought a genuine Skoda reversing camera kit for my kamiq(£146 inc vat) however i may have underestimated the fitting. i can get it coded when installed but the instructions show 2 of the wires being fitted to the BCM. does anyone know if this is easy to do? the rest i can easily do
  2. hi, ref quiet horn. ive now done this now so i can warn others of my presence!! firstly i'm sure the alarm has its own sounder, not readily accessible and there has not been any CANBUS interference as the horn is relay powered. if you remove the plastic connector from the factory horn it is connected by bullet shaped contacts, simply connect new horn wires together and fit a standard bullet conn, plug this into the previously removed socket and just plug original car plug into this, nice and secure.
  3. hi the fabia horns came with plugs/wire, at a cost of £5...bargain. i just soldered 2 readily available pins to the attached wires to plug into the original horn socket. other methods of connection would also work (ie bullet connectors) i wrapped a bit of electrical insulation tape over the joint
  4. hi, on my previous scala (basically the same car at the front) i changed the single horn for a pair including mounting bracket off a fabia, there is plenty of room by using the fabia mount (same single mounting bolt) this was done through the foglight fitting sadly not there on my new kamiq hence my previous question. the wiring just needs a slight tweak to connect to the existing plug
  5. i tried it on my first scala but the bonnet would not shut squarely so i gave up, might have another try on my new kamiq as there appears to be a bit more room
  6. thanks for the info, i just need a nice day now to do it.
  7. i wonder if somebody can help me, i have just changed my scala monte carlo for a kamiq se l and this has the same puny useless horn the scala had, on that the foglight and small grill came out to give access to the horn for me to change to a pair off a fabia (same mounting bracket) on the kamiq this part of the grill doesn't appear to be removable from the front. my question is can i remove the headlight from above without removing the bumper? the only other way would appear to be to remove the wheelarch liner but that's a much bigger job. Thanks
  8. hi the fuse skoda dealers have used on my scala and wifes kamiq for the hard wired ignition controlled dash cam power is the small blue fuse for the air bag. there are two sizes of fuse both readily available as piggybacks
  9. having just changed the grille surround to the black ( my Scala is Race Blue)and reading other comments i would say its easier if you remove the bumper from the car. i decided that i would not be changing it back to chrome so sacrificed the old grill by carefully cutting the mounting tangs off and saving damage to the black clip things on the bumper. the hardest part was the bumper/wing mounting screw with the arch liners in place. i had no issues with just unplugging the radar and plugging back in
