  1. The big infotainment screen on my 18 month old Karoq sel packed in 3 months ago. My local skoda dealer said it wasn't urgent and I had to wait 5 weeks for a booking. They had the car for 2 days, couldn't solve the problem and ordered a new electronic control unit. Car went back in for a day to fit the unit and it still doesn't work... no satnav, no music, no safety features, no reversing camera, nothing! The dealer will have the car for another day next week but I am running out of patience and wonder what my next course of action should be if next week is another failure. Anyone else had problems with their infotainment screen?
  2. My all in plan was due to run out next April and I was paying for it by monthly direct debit. I decided to get an 11 month old Karoq and rang Skoda to ask if I could terminate my all in plan and cancel my direct debit. They said 'yes that's fine....and we will refund this years payments as you will not be having a service and mot on the all in plan. £270 put in my account....which was nice! I will definitely go for the all in plan when my Karoqs 3 yr warranty runs out.
  3. Went to the showroom to see if it was worth waiting another year to buy a near new Elroq (30k) or buy another near new Karoq (23k)now. Had 2 karoqs already and thought they were the best cars I've had in 54 years driving, bearing in mind my must have's were 1. Roof bars to take ladders and roof box occasionally, and 2. space for wife's wheelchair in boot. Took a tape measure to the showroom and I'm not a tall guy, 5' 6" and wife much smaller but the ground to door sill in Elroq was 140mm higher than Karoq, i.e. difficult to get in and seated. The measurements from the sill down to the car floor was 50mm less in the Elroq which gave me the impression that to have the seat at a height to comfortably get in, you had to have your legs almost horizontal when seated unless you raised the seat once you were in. I guess I'm not explaining this well but the overall impression to me was the Elroq is a great car, but the seating doesnt suit people with a less than average height....all because of the space the batteries take up in the car floor. Most new Karoqs are dsg, auto which I don't want, so what's to do! I ended up buying a 11 month old 1.5 tsi sel Karoq 10k off the new price and am happy to kick the 'buying an electric car' can down the road for another 3 to 4 years. Anyone else have a view on the comparison between Elroq and Karoq?
  4. I've had 2 1.0 karoqs since 2018 and they have been brilliant for me. They are easy to drive in the city and on the motorway. On holidays I have driven with 4 adults, a full boot and a full roof box and still had power to accelerate and overtake vehicles on the motorway. I calculate that in 54 years of driving and owning over 20 cars, my 21 reg karoq is the best car I've had!!
  5. When I said 'why not reduce my direct debit rather than give me a cheque' they said they couldn't because the dd went to VW and the discount came from Skoda
  6. After I posted earlier about just missing out on the 20% discount because my car was registered on 6th april, I contacted skoda to see if they could be flexible about the deadline date. They replied after the deadline had passed and said someone would ring me. When the guy rang I told him I had already bought the all in plan at £37.50 a month. He apologised for not getting back to me earlier and said I could have the discount and a cheque arrived yesterday from VW for £180. Well done Skoda. Lovely jubbly.
  7. Bit of a bummer for me. My karoq is 3 years old on 6th april, offer ends on 2nd april and skoda wont let me buy the 'all in' until the car is 3 years old, so I miss out on £180 discount!
  8. I had same problem with my karoq. Dealer also noticed it at 2 yr service. Took it back in when it got worse and they changed the door locks under warranty. 3 months on there's been no reoccurrence.
  9. My 21 reg karok has also locked me out of the car fortunately while the keys were in my pocket. Strangely the wing mirrors didn't close in. It happened more frequently and the dealer also noticed it on the 2yr service. The locks were changed under warranty this week so hopefully problem solved. I have a feeling this problem is more widespread than skoda will admit.
  10. I use roof bars frim aldi, think they were about £35. They fit my 18 reg karoq and now fit my 21 reg
  11. Thanks for the advice vegit8. Bought the flash drive and all sorted. Now have heavy metal thunder while diving....unless the other half is in the passenger seat then its Adele!
  12. Picked up a 2021 karoq a few weeks ago and still haven't found a way to play my music on my sdcard from my previous karoq. I tried a card reader plugged in the usb c socket, it didn't work, then I added music to my micro sd card in my phone, plugged it in the usb c socket still can't get the android auto to identify it. Using spotify at the moment via the phone but this technology seems to have advanced beyond my capability.
