  1. Wireless charger... So it's that bad. Style version here in Finland includes most of the 'options' found in other markets as standard. There are only few things you can order 'on top' since most of the gadgets are included. I'm scared to think when will they start building mine then. Looks like current estimate of build date around October is actually optimistic.
  2. I see quite a few people mentioning October/November 2022 for estimated delivery time. I wonder it is the new "Magic number" by Skoda since it's kind of far enough in the future Or they really expect to clear their backlog by that time.
  3. Well, at least it brings some comfort knowing that you're not the only one with 14 months+ delivery time
  4. I was just having email conversation with my dealer. Since the responsible salesperson has changed, he actually proactively writes every few weeks. Hats off to that gentleman. He mentioned that orders are coming in little by little, but majority is still not delivered. Skoda's partner is busy rebuilding the door panels production line and allegedly they might have more information on the build week after week 12-16 So far latest tentative date was late october. I guess they expect it to move forward at some point.
  5. Haha, I've been noticing the same and similar thoughts
  6. Because it's a mess, you don't really know when you're going to get it No right or wrong answers here. With what's going on now, I guess you should expect your average delivery to be around 5-12 months, more so if you have some rare configuration.
  7. My dealer has received at least some information about my 1.5 hatchback order from August. Preliminary production date is now around week 40 now. Which makes the estimated waiting time... 14 months 😔
  8. A salesperson who ordered my car has actually quit his job at Skoda dealer. Ain't good to sell the cars if there's nothing to sell. He's a nice guy, I hope he finds a better place with some cars to actually sell.
  9. This is depressing indeed. From everywhere you read it's getting worse with Octavia, not better. No info coming from either dealer, importer or Skoda. Getting MY23 car having done the order in mid-2021 seems to be a grim reality. I remember looking forward of getting a new graphics card in autumn 2020. 1,5 years later I gave up any hopes for that and burned over it. Guess the same will happen with this thing...
  10. Yeah, it all boils down to Skoda at the end of the day. I've been at the dealer - they have shown me on screen what information they have - not much. I've written a polite, but confronting letter to the local importer. Not that I demand my car ahead of the queue, but they should do a better job of managing customer expectations and providing at least some feedback and status updates on the order. They replied back that they are sorry, but, quote "...currently all the processes are not normal." At least they've promised to forward my feedback to Skoda. If we complain to manufacturer directly or via importers/dealers that will probably not make our cars come sooner. But just maybe that will help folks at Skoda to see that customers are not happy and they need to do a better job in terms of providing timely and accurate information
  11. So I went by the dealer today to ask what's up. At least in Finland the expected delivery time is around a year. For my August order I was told to expect if after the summer. What was interesting is that dealer mentioned that delivery time doesn't seem to matter on the particular components anymore. However liftbacks were going out much slower than wagons. Go figure.
  12. Gorgeous looking thing! Congratulations! I'm waiting for the same color and rims, but in a liftback format.
  13. I don't have it yet (ordered). But from what I learned and observed during the test drives, mild hybrids will never use electric engine alone. It will slightly boost ICE when accelerating, but that's about it. Can't tell about ACT yet. I'd expect it to go into "cruise" mode if the engine load is low enough.
  14. Damn lottery it is. I haven't even got a build week or even a confirmation that the order has been accepted.
  15. So I asked for the update for the first time from the dealer today. Car ordered mid-july (1.5 TSI e-Tec). No build week allocated yet. Not surprised, so the wait continues.
  16. I see thanks for the replies. Here, if you don't drive a lot leasing is a tad more expensive.
  17. Bit offtopic, but I'm curious. I see a lot of people leasing the cars, instead of buying. Is that a common trend in UK nowadays?
  18. I dare to guess that this also depends on the particular country and importer - who manages to prioritize their orders better.
  19. Thought I'd share my story so far. Ordered Octavia 1.5 e-Tec around middle of August. Comes in Style variant plus couple of extras like Park Assist, electric seats, integrated heater (because Finland) and few other minor things. Initial estimate was 5-6 months. The dealer showed the document from the importer with the estimates from different models. In the contract the specified timeframe was December 21 - January 22. Even at that time I took it with some grain of salt. My own estimate reading all forums and discussions was around March 22. Around mid October there was another letter from the dealer quoting the information they recieved from the importer. There they explained the ongoing chip crisis and that it will affect delivery times. No estimates of course, but they mentioned situation was quite fluid. I wrote back asking if the dealer would have any guesstimates. He quoted another importer document where the eTec Octavias were now estimated 8-10 month delivery timeframe. In terms of guesstimates he mentioned first quarter 2022, most likely March, which was very close to my own guess. This week I recieved another mail from the dealer who said that the order could be expedited if we were to yield Park Assist 3.0. This came from the importer as well and they gave no indication how much would that speed up the delivery. I appreciated the gesture, but we needed Park Assist for my significant other and I use if quite often as well with our current Astra. Don't mind waiting a bit more, especially that there was no indication what kind of time benefit this brings. I also noticed that Park Assist 3 was no longer available for order for new cars. Overall, in quite happy with both communication and transparency from the dealer so far. With this situation they are as much in the dark as most of us are and get all their information from the importer. I'll just stick up with some patience and wait. The overall situation with chips will improve at some point. And there's nothing better on the market for this price anyway.
