  1. Can anyone shed any light on the front brake disc size for my 17 reg Scout (2.0 TDi). It's chucking it down with rain at the moment, so can't get the wheel (17") off to check! Have found 276mm and 312mm listed. Thanks!
  2. Just trying to work out if it’s a Terminal fault in the BCM. What are the chances that a new BCM would have the same fault as the old one ~6 weeks after being installed? Problem is that it’s all guided fault finding, nobody really tries to look into the root cause.
  3. So annoyingly, this same issue reappeared after the new BCM was fitted. The dealer is saying that because aftermarket changes were made to the car (tow bar, reversing camera, front parking sensors) that they can’t just replace under warranty as Skoda HQ would reject the warranty claim due to the aftermarket coding. Dealer has suggested another replacement BCM, however this doesn’t identify the root cause of the issue. I queried them coding in the retrofitted items, but they have come back to me and said they would need to remove and install the items themselves, at whatever ridiculous cost that ends up being. What I’m most perplexed about is that this is a competent protection issue. None of the retrofitted items are part of the component protection group in the car, so why would they cause a problem? Is there any other way to force the removal of component protection that the dealer is unable to do (I.e. non-dealer ODIS)?
  4. It was done by the dealer so I would have hoped so!
  5. After having to replace my BCM recently due to a component protection fault that couldn’t be cleared by the dealer, I’ve now got the same issue again: Dim maxidot Dim radio screen No interior lights However, this time if I switch the interior lights switch on, I get the tailgate open warning binging away at me. I’ve noticed it randomly going off at me whilst driving in the past. Usually rectified by opening:/closing. Could there be an issue with the tailgate lock/sensor which has triggered the component protection again? Central locking works fine.
  6. Nope. Hadn’t made any changes to anything, just got into the car one evening and it was dark. Complete mystery and an expensive one at that!
  7. You’ll probably need a new BCM. They couldn’t sort out the component protection issue with the original.
  8. Was getting Component Protection error via VCDS for some reason. Took it to my local dealer who said there was a checksum error preventing the component protection error from being cleared. Needed a new BCM. Didn’t want to risk buying one myself and fitting it to find it didn’t work, so let it to them. Was about £600 including diagnosis, fitting and coding (BCM was ~£400 of that).
  9. Thanks, mine is a 17 plate. It’s in for a service in a couple of weeks, so have added this to the list.
  10. @fletch71 were any fault codes showing to your knowledge? I’m just puzzled as there’s nothing coming up when I scan the car, but fuses are intact.
  11. 😭 hope it isn’t this. There’s no faults showing. @SashaGrace considering your expertise, could the BCM be changed DIY or does it need dealer level coding? I’ve checked the PCB this morning and no obvious blown tracks.
  12. Had an issue crop up last night whereby neither the interior lights or the led strips in the doors are coming on. Reading lights also not working. Then this morning, found that the radio and maxi dot were really dim despite bright sunlight outside. Randomly, the traction control button won’t light up when pressed, although all the other buttons such as PDC and driving mode do. I’ve scanned with OBD11 and there are no faults coming up related to electrics or lighting. Have seen another thread which mentions the PCB behind the interior lights as a potential source of the issue. Before I pull the panel apart are there any other likely problem areas to look at which would present like this?
  13. Sorry I didn’t manage to get back to you, but good job on figuring it out. wg100
  14. It's that time. My car is out of warranty and simple stuff like brake pads need changing. Can anyone clue me in on how I identify which rear brake pads I need for a 2017 (FL) Scout? My initial thoughts are that the standard disk size is 253mm with 272mm being for the VRS? Is there anything special I need to be aware of? Is it a simple manual windback of the caliper, or does that need to be done via VCDS/OBDEleven?
