I am reasonable at it I guess. My mate can parallel park and get his car into the tiniest of gaps. I have no clue how he is so good at it. It is so annoying. I just figured if a computer could do that for me then I just wouldn't need to drive around the block looking for a slightly larger gap! It's just a 'nice to have' rather than essential. And additionally more so for the other half!

So not worth the effort then is what you are saying? I just you pressed a button and it did it all better than a human can tucked up nicely flush against the kerb! Clearly not then! On the autotrader website there is a filter called 'previously written off'. Surely that doesn't mean cars that have been in nasty accidents?

Interesting option if need be thanks. When I do a search on Marshall's Skoda Harlow website, there's isn't a 'parking package plus' in features to narrow down the search. There is parking sensors. I mean seriously, parking sensors are standard right? Who would buy a car now without parking sensors?

Thanks. Is that because the parking package plus is a new thing? The sales person kept talking about 'front and rear sensors' like it was the next best thing. My 2016 skoda has beeping rear sensors so not sure why he was getting so animated about old technology.

Hi, Thinking of trading in my Octavia for a newsih Karoq but I'd quite like park assist and a rear parking camera as I'm rubbish at parking in tight spots. Do any of the Karog models have this? Thanks, Matt

Hi, I've had my 2015 octavia for 9 years and every now and then this message flashes up. I've been on here before to search for an answer years ago but the only definitive thing that came out of it was 'dust in the contacts' or something so I have been shifting the gear level up and down fast with the foot on the brake about 20 times when it flashes up. That seemed to do the trick until the next time the message flashes up maybe a few weeks/months later. It's not been a problem other than this for 9 years so I'm only bothered about it now because I want to sell it. Did anyone get to the bottom of the problem? There were horrendous stories about people stripping apart the gear box etc. I attach a picture. It's not my car but it's the closest image I could find. Plus the message only flashes up for a few seconds, far too short to take a picture. TIA Matt

Sat nav works just fine after a long drive albeit it's still in yards and not metres which they clearly haven't changed.

No, I just entered my VIN to the website and it told me I was Amundsen 2 so ran with it. Yup me too like the old cassette tapes when you put cellotape over the holes. Maybe I didn't push it in properly the first time, who knows!

The whole thing is so painful. And this is one of the reasons I haven't caved in to my son's demands and bought a tesla. I just imagine they are full of technology that I would never use!

Actually i just crosschecked the structure against the back up and looks the same, sorry red herring. No, i didn't lock the SD card again. Does it matter? I thought it was a bit like the punch tags on the old cassette tapes!

Ok so all copied but when taken to the car, the sat nav just said checking data for ten minutes before I froze to death so no success yet. Format of data was on the card after loading wasn't like the below e.g. MIb1, metainfo2 etc. Does it take a long time for the 'stereo' and SD card to sync etc?

Currently extracting the data to my SD card. Why is this all so slow? It said I needed no other updates when I entered my VIN. Is this bit below important to download? Website is a bit vague.

Ok. Back up done to desktop. SD Card formatted. Size is 7.5gb. Thanks for the link but I thought I was columbus and not Amundsen.

Guys, what do I do now? A snip from Paulski above. Do I copy the skoda portal file here onto the SD card? Overwriting any file already on the SD card? I checked the back of my p.c. and there is a SD slot thankfully
