  1. ah Thanks for that so yeah a bit early for the Cambelt then. I guess i need to call a Main Dealer to check the below, if its not showing up on the website checker. "The DSG is what i am posting about, 7 speed twin dry clutch. Preventive measure with the software update. As fitted to 1.4 TSI / Petrols & 1.6 TDI's." Cheers all P

Have put the VIN in to the below and it shows clear http://recall.skoda-auto.com/004/en-com Its Petrol so not affected by the Software issue.
  3. Hi All New here to the Forum but been sitting on the sidelines for a bit. Also new to Skodas and i must say that I'm really pretty impressed. !! So my original car (RAV4) was written off in a no-fault accident, I've been given an 1.5 petrol Octavia estate (Auto) as a hire car. After driving it for an hour I liked it, after a week i really liked it, after 2 weeks i wanted one !! (just not as an estate edition.) So i cant afford a new or nearly new one so i began my search. Eventually turning up a Mint condition Black 2014 1.4L Octavia Saloon in DSG Auto with 47,000 on the clock, black leather which seems to have every extra available included ! Just about in budget at £10.5 k which seems about right in the current market. I've a deposit on it, and I've driven it it feels tight on the road and nicely "pointy" but i couldn't really stretch its legs too much as its in London.... Paperwork is all there but a new CamBelt is being recommended which i find strange at just 47000 miles. Anyone have any thoughts on this..? So what are the know bugs and issues with the 2014 plate (there must be some) what should i expect to go pop \ look out for. Or otherwise advise my mechanic to change as a precautionary measure. Let me know what you think ! Cheers P
