Second Hand Car - Never been Update (Infotainment systems - 1803)
It did the same with me, I would unplug it, and try to set it up the normal way.... without success. Got frustrated, locked the car up and left it for the day, but the next time I used it, it was working wirelessly. I've taken a photo of my software set up, 1803...buggy as hell, but Android Auto is working wirelessly...

I had a similar issue at first too. I found that after I'd initially connected to the car with a USB cable and started using Android Auto with a wired connection, it would automatically connect wirelessly after that. It's not the way it should work, or how the on screen instructions tell you to set it up...but it worked for me twice! (I did a system reset and had to do it all over again)

I'm literally basing it on what the local main dealer said to me when I enquired. But every experience with that dealership has been a pain in the neck (but that's a different story) so I'll likely look around elsewhere.

Haha, if only it was £100...I’ve just spent £430 on a new second key because it only came with one key from the garage I bought it from. When I last spoke to the main dealer, they estimated it needed 3 updates and they quoted £150 to perform each update. And that’s on top of needing to have the car to first diagnose the SOS fault, before they can do anything about it. Even though it seems quite well documented and common across the Skoda range.

I was worried that might be the case

Hi all, I'm also on version1803. From a different thread, I've found the download files for 1941, but does anyone know where I can find downloads for earlier updates to apply? I've searched everywhere but can't find any earlier updates to apply. I'm out of warranty (bought the car second hand, and the previous owner hadn't applied any updates), and I want to minimise how much I need to spend on the car to sort out the infotainment. I have the SOS issues which I’m going to have to pay for separately as it is.

Power Mirror Retrofit
The more I'm looking into it, the more it looks a bit beyond me! 🤣 But, hypothetically, how much would this cost if the professionals were to do it?

Power Mirror Retrofit
That's a really good point. I've been reading posts on here about retrofitting a reverse camera, and @East_Yorkshire_Retrofits came up a lot. I'm already thinking of taking a family trip north sometime! Glad my theory about the wiring didn't sound too wishful thinking too!

Power Mirror Retrofit
Hello, I don't think this has been posted anywhere else, I've had a look but can't find any information (but apologies if I'm duplicating!) I have a 2021 Skoda Octavia SE Technology which I've recently bought second hand, and I think it’s safe to say, it’s my favourite car I've ever owned. There's only one thing I wish it had - power folding mirrors. I park it on the street outside the house, and whilst I've been lucky, I've seen others with their mirrors clipped by passing cars. Its not a deal breaker - I know I can just fold them in, but my old car (a Corsa) had power fold and it was just something I didn't have to think about. So, looking on eBay, the cost of two power folding mirrors and a replacement switch for the driver’s door isn't that much plus, it would be a fun upgrade I could maybe do myself. So, my question - do manufacturers use a standard wiring set up, across models, with wiring already in place for optional extras to be installed further down the production line? As in, would it be possible to plug in new components, and have them work - or will there need to be extra wiring involved to make something such as power mirrors work? Even if the wiring was in place, I'm guessing they would need to be coding to make them fold on locking etc? This is probably a bit beyond a novice DIYer, but curious if anyone else done this, or something similar. Thanks!
