  1. I watched the tester myself, they only recommended recharging it btw. It's a lot more info then the multimeter gave me, more is better than nothing for a free 10 point check.
  2. Please take your childish frustration elsewhere.
  3. I went to check the battery at halfords and it did come out as 365 out of 550. I went for a drive on the motorway while slightly over-revving and the assisted power steering came back on sometime later. I'll borrow a battery charger and I'll leave it on charge over the weekend hopefully that will be the end of it. There is a chance that the battery could have been the main issue. My dashcam remained on a 3/4 months back and killed my battery, it might've not been able to fully recharge since then. Thanks for the advice.
  4. Yes, it has failed and then it appears that the fluid change had helped it revive. And then it gone again. Thanks for your helpful comment. Any other thoughts?
  5. So I changed the fluid one day. As you see in the photo the old one looked quite different to the new clear green one. I drove 50 miles the next day and nothing changed. I drove again the day after and within second after I started driving it came back on. Worked fine during the day, I stopped a couple of times. I stopped again right before I got home and this time when I started the car it didn't work. Tried a couple of time and still didn't work. 😐 Any thoughts?
  6. I have checked the battery with a mustimeter, and all the fuses. Battery is 13 volts resting. I went to the garage to run diagnostics . It came out as J500 (power steering control module) -004 No Signal/Communication
  7. It's an electric power steering pump, do these ones required filling up as well..?
  8. Hi, I've got some issues with the power steering. Initially it was off when I was starting the car and then came back on after a bit of driving. It was very random, sometimes was alright and sometimes off after starting the car up. It then stopped working completely. I have checked all the fuses and they seem to be fine. I have looked under the mudguard where the pump is place and I've got a TRW powersteering pump. Any advice would be much appreciated.
  9. Hi, Did you get a new pump or a used/reconditioned one? I seem to have the same problem with mine, I'm gonna take it for a diagnostic check to confirm... What was the cost involved?
  10. Hi, Thanks all. I had the wrong part pre facelift ... I got the right one in and all works fine. Thanks
  11. I do, but a few wires are broken..and have been mended before
  12. The part number originally on the door is 5J0971120GK ...the new part currently on is 5J0971120BL. This is probably where I went wrong I guess... My car is from the later batch 2010-2014 as opposed to 2007-2014.
  13. It has clicked as I had checked several times. Initially the car was unlocking itself after a couple of seconds, however after I unplugged and reconnected everything that didn't happen again.
  14. Hi, I have recently swapped Drivers Side Door Wiring Loom on my SKODA Fabia Estate 2007-2014. I did this because I my window controller on the door was not working and could not lower driver side window at all. After heaving a glance underneath the plastic protector that covers the wiring between the door and the car (when the door is open) I have observed that there were many wires taped/mended by the previous owner. The new loom was from Skoda parts direct so a genuine part, however after installation the car was doing all sorts of funny stuff. The passenger side window was going down every time I took the key out of ignition/contact. My key desynchronises after every use, in order for central locking to work properly I have to lock/unlock the car manually and pop it in ignition to synchronise and only afterwards my central locking works properly for one use. Other than thinking that the wiring loop is defective what else is there to consider? Has anyone had any similar issues before? I tried disconnecting the care battery and reconnecting but it didn't change anything. Any opinions / suggestions on this would be much appreciated. Thanks. (the photo attached was downloaded off the internet)
