  1. Sadly I had shocking service from this dealership. Just after I bought my MK3 octavia, I went there and enquired about the extended warranty and service package. They were doing a deal at the time - I think 20% off - not insignificant. They told me that because I had bought my car 2nd hand that they would need to investigate if an extended warranty and service package could be provided. After some chasing they came back to me by email to confirm that it could be offered and that they would telephone me shortly to take payment. A week went by and no phone call / message. I emailed them and got an apology and was told that I would be called to take payment and that I could have the 20% discount. Another week went by. I called them and was told that the offer period of the 20% discount had ended and that I would need to pay full price!! I went ballastic and complianed to the dealership and was essentially told to f** off. I wrote to Skoda head office who, surprisingly said the same thing. I genuinely thought about writing to Skoda global head office in Europe but decided I didn't have the time to invest. I will never give Skoda Guildford any business. I now use Garland in Aldershot who I have to say have been brilliant.
  2. I have a 1.6TDi 2017 MK3 Octavia. I have found from the fault code reader that it has the DQ200 0AM / 0CW gearbox and am going to do an oil change. However - I would be really curious if anyone knows: why is the gearbox code shown on the ID sticker in the boot "RER" - it would make more sense to have DQ200 0CW I would have thought? Would be very interested if anyone knows? Many thanks, Jonathan
  3. Thank you - sorry, yes it's a 1.6 Tdi - I assumed it would be the same cooling system for both engines. Thanks again - I'll proceed as you have suggested.
  4. Am about to do a coolant flush on my 2017 MK3 Octavia. I do have VCDS for doing the bleed after, but don't currently have the vacuum tool to bleed the coolant circuit.. I saw on a YT video that the coolant could be bled by removing the coolant temperature sensor, letting the coolant run out and then replacing. Has anyone had experience of this? I don't want an airlock nightmare as many have done & I'm prepared to buy the gear if necessary, but if it is just a case of removing the coolant sensor then I'd rather do that.. TIA
  5. Hi! Have had my Octavia for 3 months now, has already saved me £££s vs. my old 5 series and is roomier in the back for the kids 🙂 Love getting my hands greasy, so look forward to reading and sharing in the tech forums! Many thanks, Jonathan
