  1. I finally have a working travel assist and it actually steers very well. I'm happy with it Had it done at a local VW group tuning shop for €760 (the price included the new capacitive sports steering wheel with paddle shifters – I'll sell my original steering wheel). The lane assist screen in the virtual cockpit works just like in the video. The only thing that makes me curious is the MIB infotainment assists-sub menu. The travel assist icon also appears there, but when I try to tap on the icon, it says "the menu is not available". Does anyone have a similar experience? Despite this, everything works fine.
  2. Thanks, sounds promising. What was your process? I have ACC, lane assist, Columbus and sport steering wheel (without heating and travel assist buttons). I just requested a quote for the retrofit, at a local vw / Škoda tuning shop. I wonder what they will say about the process and the price.
  3. Thanks, clear for me now. Mine is a model year 2023 version, so probably it will be good.
  4. What do you mean by “not as powerful” the turning motor? So do you say that it’s not worth all the effort and money to buy a new steering wheel and do the programming? I hoped that enabling the feature activates all the related software functionality as well. But it seems like it’s requiring other things too? 🤔
  5. For those who have managed to retrofit the travel assist: Did the virtual cockpit's lane assist screen changed too, from the simple, straight road line version to the one which shows the actual curved line of the road? Like in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0wiwYiTv1c&t=327s
  6. Hello varooom, after reading all these positive posts about the successful updates, would it be possible to have the link for me too? I’m currently on 1898. Thanks
  7. Thx man. It's been a long time coming... It's not a Sportline. It's a mild hybrid (aka. e-TEC) Style model with DSG and dynamic sport pack (which includes the black grill, side mirrors, sport steering wheel, sport seats and lowered suspension). The dealer said that this car is the first they delivered this year with mild hybrid system, and the battery pack was among the missing parts. As far as I know the dynamic sport pack as an independent option was withdrawn from the market at the end of 2021 due to shortages. Probably Skoda kept these components for the vRS models.
  8. Finally, the day has come, and the car has arrived at the dealer. Delivery due within 4-5 days. I can't really express what I feel now. The order was placed on 21st April 2021, so nearly 23 months ago. I've never waited such a long time for anything before. According to the documentation, the car was built on 24th October, and since it waited for semi-conductors. The missing parts added on 14th February (3,5 months later). Here are some fresh photos – taken minutes after the arrival (the mirror shows the smile on my face 😆)
  9. Just got an update, about my eTEC Style estate, with DSG and dynamic sport pack (I ordered it on April 2021 – soon it’s going to be 2 years). Quick recap of my history: after 16 months of waiting, the car was built according to the previously confirmed built week in mid-October. At that time, I thought that my torture finally ends, but since, the car is unfinished and waiting for a semi-conductor (4 months now). Because the factory's status giving ended in November (after the supposed delivery week, (which is 4 weeks after the built week) the car’s status entered into a black hole, with no new info since. To get something to hold on to, the dealer contacted the importer, and one of the importer's representatives were at the factory to negotiate the stuck "old" cars (including mine). The simple, and sour answer from the factory was that Skoda is expecting new supply of chips to arrive by the end of Q1 2023 – and that's it. So, we don't know if this means a possible end-of-Q1 delivery of the car, or "just" the arrival of the spare parts, with a delivery after this, in a couple of weeks. And a frustrating addition to this is that many other cars are in the same situation. The guy who was at the factory said that thousands of cars are waiting for parts since October.
  10. I can confirm this. Porsche Hungary (the importer of VAG brands in Hungary) has discontinued the sales of all Octavia 4 models, and probably this will happen in other countries too, soon. Skoda will introduce the facelift version sometime around this year, and if they want to deliver the new models from Q1 2024, first they must clear the backlog of the – now retired – old models. BTW, mine is waiting for missing parts since mid-October (3,5 months now) without any news of a possible delivery date. It's crazy that after 16 months of waiting for a build week, they still produce cars just to park them for another several months... without knowing – or at least telling – the reality of a final delivery. Good luck to everybody, who waits for a build week. Sadly, a confimed build week is not more than just a gambling now. When I got my VIN number last September, I thought that my torture is finally ending, but looking back, up until the build week at least I had something to wait for. Now the whole waiting is just a black hole. It can be here next week, or park around the factory for another more months. I wrote a letter to the importer and wrote to several Skoda persons via LinkedIn. Their answer was more like a legal / polite way to say "f*ck yourself" than anything helpful. Of course, they will not tell me anything specific because in this case I can use it against the company, but somehow I waited for something more promising than "It will be worth the wait".
  11. Here are the official 2022 numbers from Skoda's press site: https://www.skoda-storyboard.com/en/press-releases/skoda-auto-delivers-731300-vehicles-worldwide-in-2022/ According to this, Skoda delivered 141K Octavias in 2022 which is 29,7% less than in 2021.
  12. Feels like this topic has turned into an electric/charger related thread.🤨😀 Anyway, after the so called “holiday break” ended at the factory, did someone get news related to unfinished cars? Mine is probably waiting for parts more than 3 months now. After already 17 months of wait for the build week, this last 3 months were like a real endless torture. The dealer said that after the initial delivery week (which is 4 weeks after the original build week) the car’s status is not changing anymore, so it “will arrive someday” - they said, which is not an answer after 20 months. My contracted price with the company discount is around 35% below the current list prices, and after this amount of time I would be the stupidest to jump out from the deal, but this additional and neverending, unpredictable waiting makes me crazy. 😕
  13. Is there anybody here with an unfinished car, waiting for parts? I have been waiting for completion 2,5 months now, and madly hoped for good news during the holidays, but nothing yet. I got the VIN since the built week but Skoda Connect doesn’t recognize it, even though I try it every day since. Now I started to lost all the hope. If the end of year / end of 4th quarter results were not enough important for Skoda to complete a car which is waiting for missing parts since mid October then I don’t think it’s going to be ready shortly. Overall I’m on my 20th month now since the original order (April 2021). My car is one of the oldest now in the spreadsheet. Probably I’m cursed because of the specs: 1,5 eTSI mild hybrid with DSG + dynamic sport package + business package with all of the driving assists
  14. As we are now on CW51 I’m curious that will we get good news finally? 🤨 Mine is waiting for missing parts since 2 months now… I try to add the VIN to the Skoda App every day, since then. It would be a miracle if it’s finally will be accepted by the system.
  15. Same for me. The car has been built in late October, but still waiting for missing parts since more than a month now. With this, I'm now on my 20th month since the original order... All I can hope is that the factory will finish these cars before the end of the year... (to improve the quarterly financial results) "Disappointment" is not the right word to explain this ****...
