  1. Thanks - all looking like battery issues by the sounds of it. Cheers
  2. Hi JR - thanks for the detailed reply, I think I may have to address the battery first and hope that that is the issue/problem and fixes some of the other gremlins in the system that are occurring also. It's a bit strange as it's been pretty much hassle free motoring until now! On another note - my brother hit a pretty big pothole a few months back that cracked the rim (which I replaced and had wheels aligned) do you think this could have wreaked havoc on any of the internal systems and sensors? Thanks again for the advice
  3. It was just checked by a local mechanic who said the voltage was good. What is entailed with a battery change? Is this something that needs to be done via Skoda or from a battery specials or other mechanic? Is it something I can do myself? Thanks
  4. Hey all - advice needed. My 2018 Superb TSI 4x4 is only just out of warranty and have had a recent string of tech issues. Firstly, the Start/Stop System has essentially stopped working (functions occasionally). Is this a known issue? When I spoke with Skoda they said it's because it's colder weather (I'm in Australian winter so not exactly cold) but that has never happened before. They then said that is could be because the battery may be going flat, but I have had it checked and is functioning properly - so don't really know what to make of it - is this just a line from Skoda?! Also, when it does decide to work, the engine cuts out as usual when stopped but when reigniting on start-up it changes the radio station or brings up the recent phone call list... pretty strange. Secondly, when I am stopped (whether start/stop system working or not) I get a notification in the driving data panel the Manoeuvre Breaking is Unavailable. Don't know why this is happening either, could these be related? Seems strange as the Auto Parking seems to be working? Car is due for Oil Service (75k service done last year) but Skoda has informed that car is now out of warranty and otherwise would probably not cover any tech issues anyway would have to be assessed by the diagnostic team at a cost to myself - and apparently quite expensive! Just a ****ed peeved that all this is happening as soon as it's out of warranty?? Any advice appreciated and any suggestions for diagnostic gurus here in Sydney that coukd do such work - happy to pay... Just not to Skoda haha 😅
  5. Oh ok thanks. I’ll have to play around it looks like. Thanks for the information gents
  6. Thanks @JR RS appreciate the information. If I were to use a dongle wouldn’t that connect bot apple and android? Could I also just use the sim/data slot to create the wireless/LAN?
  7. For wireless AA or CarPlay is that through Bluetooth or LAN connection? Have been trying to connect wirelessly with both android and apple but no luck. Do I need a sim/data plan for the car? Superb 2018
  8. Really great! Just gotta fit some new tyres so doing a bit of research and see what would be best - thinking maybe either replace with current Pirelli as the fronts are basically bald (either 2 fresh fronts or 4 new all round) unless you could suggest any others.
  9. Hey All, Picked up my very first Škoda Superb today and a very proud new owner. I got the 2018 206tsi 4x4 (Australian Spec) in business grey with all the bells and whistles. Still really low KMs 40,000 (25,000mi) and runs amazingly. Just had a full service from the dealer and in tip top mechanical condition with full service history. Looking forward to getting to know it better and get a real feel for it. Looking at putting on 4 new tyres and posted on this subject here a few days ago - everyone on here are so helpful and knowledgeable. Such a great forum, really enjoy browsing and reading up. Cheers all, happy driving!
  10. Hey Ess, Small world, I live in Lindfield born and bread and ended up moving back here years later - where in the UK are you located? I’ve pulled the trigger on the Superb 208 (the one with 40,000km/25,000mi) from a really decent guy just in Castle Hill. It’s having a full service tomorrow at the Pennant Hills dealership and still has 2 left with the service plan and factory warranty until mid 2023 - feel it’s the much better choice of the two although the other does have the sunroof which I kinda like but not for the extra 45,000kms! Picking her up on Thursday so pretty pumped just quietly. Will update once I’ve had a solid fang and really got a better feel for the machine. Thanks for the advice, hopefully don’t have any serious issues over the next 5-10yrs and happy motoring all round. Cheers again
  11. Thanks @nicknorman appreciate the advice. Other than the mileage did you rate them as a good all round tyre?
  12. Hello there all - have enjoyed reading all the insights, advice and suggestions. not sure if I have missed any comments but I was considering doing an all 4 tyre change with KUMHO ECSTA PS71 XL FSL (235/40/19) on a Superb 208tsi 4x4. Has anyone had experience with this tyre and any feedback/opinions on it? i have read the test reviews on the alltyretests.com site and they didn’t rate them favourably - however I had read many reviews on tyre user forums who the majority say it is an excellent and well priced sports performance tyre, many rating it better than the trues they replaced: PZeros, Potenzas and Pirelli Cinturato (that’s a pretty big call)! Has anyone here got a personal review on a similar specc’d car. Thanks in advance
  13. Thanks rootoot - looks like the haldex/DSG service is the thing to be looking for on these cars. I’ll definitely be enquiring as to where this is at. This is a great forum/site - can’t seem to find a local (Aus) one - probably a good thing considering the amount of Skoda owners in EU compared to AUS!! Cheers
  14. Hey Ess, Im in Sydney mate - Nowra is a great town! Thanks for the advice - as you per your suggestion you mentioned this what I have neglected to look for and something I thought after reading a few posts on here - definitely something I will now be looking for and making sure it has been done. Other than these things to look for - have you experienced any other issues with the tech/system etc? I’m pretty confident they are both solid cars just wanted a bit of reassurance. Thanks again
  15. Hello all, I am in the process of purchasing my first superb. I am looking at buying secondhand, and would appreciate your thoughts on any issues people have noticed in regards to milage. I’m currently looking at two in particular, both of them are the same year model and variant as each other however one of them has 85,000 km (52,800 ml) and the other only 42,000 km (26,100 ml). Both have full Skoda service history and have been kept in pretty good condition. From what I gather, down here in Australia we refer to the variants differently, but from my understanding, the particular model I am looking at would be essentially similar to the European L&K version - with both Tech + Comfort Packs + Pano Sunroof (top spec model). Could anyone shed any light, or from experience, any issues they may have or experienced with a superb with 80,000+ kilometres on the clock? Or any issues one could expect/foresee in the future to be aware of? Thank you in advance for any advice. Dom
  16. Glad to join as a potential new Superb owner. Cheers
