  1. Sorted it now, tied a magnet to a thin length of headphone wire, removed the air vent above the radio screen and lowered it down j til I could hear magnet hit the bottom. I drove around a few corners and hit the brakes a little extra to get the coin to move around and luckily it stuck to the magnet. it was a 2p, so relieved this worked I was ready to start taking the dash apart!
  2. Hi So a coin has fallen into the windscreen clearer air vent on my dashboard I can hear it rattling around inside the dash when I’m driving, how do I go about getting it out ? 2017 fabia thanks
  3. Recorded this today, any ideas ? IMG_2836.MOV
  4. Took it to my local garage today been taking my cars there for years. The guy took it out on his own and couldn’t hear anything, got it up on the ramp and went around tugging on the arms and links and whatever, not sure what they are called? But he went around pulling all sorts under the car, everything fine. He opened the bonnet and pushed on the car so it was bouncing up and down, nothing… We went out in it together, nothing, I sat in the back, nothing…. When I have passengers in the car and its heavier it’s silent, when I’m on my own I can hear the metallic knocking? The mechanic said everything looks newish under there and couldn’t find anything. So that’s two garages now with the same result, all I know is the noise is there but I trust my local garage and if they can’t see anything wrong it’s baffling me even more ?
  5. Went in today, couldn’t find anything, he trimmed the left shock dust cover as apparently there is a documented issue on the Skoda system about a noise which can be fixed by doing this. So the first time it went in it had left shock top bearing, left bump stop? Front brake pads and brake anti rattle things? This time it’s the left shock dust cover modified and I still have the noise, I mentioned engine mounts to the dealership and they have checked them. Don’t really fancy another trip to the garage as it’s kind of pointless, a bit annoyed at this point.
  6. Is anyone able to comment on this noise? I know it’s difficult as it’s just a small clip but can anyone suggest what it might be? thanks
  7. IMG_2805_mov.mp3 The first knock is hitting the speed bump and the second is rolling off it. Again the noise is only from the front left, left top mount bearing was replaced last week but the noise is still there.
  8. Try this one IMG_2813.MOV
  9. Strange, my partner can watch it on her phone, we both have iPhones not sure if that makes any difference?
  10. Just a small clip of the noise, going over speed bump. IMG_2812.MOV
  11. I’m hoping it’s not from the car and has fallen in there from a previous repair or something?
  12. No everything looks intact around the battery bay?
  13. Just had a look and the pn is trb-es pe3 Also found this floating around the battery bay ?
  14. Ok thanks I’ll have a look later I’m waiting for a call from the service manager to discuss what I’ve found on here, hopefully he will explore the issue further and replace the mount if that’s the issue.
