  1. Finally got a hold of her yesterday. 🥳 Mhev so only slight off electric topic! Hope remains! Seems the extended wait was somewhat beneficial in the end for me too as there are front sensors included which was an add on to the Ambition trim at the time I ordered but they seem to be included in the MY23 price packs here now. Now to figure out how to get Skoda Connect up and running.
  2. Got told today car has arrived with the dealer 🥳 and shows in the Skoda App garage waiting to be activated. So that means 4 weeks from production week to delivery in Ireland for anyone counting. Temptation is there to pick it up now for the Christmas road trips but will look forward to collection in the new year with a fresh "231" reg.
  3. Week 43 happened thankfully and told today, car is made and on the way to Emden Port for December delivery. So looks like it will be just under the 1 year mark from ordering to delivery which, strange to say it, would actually be one of the quicker turnarounds.
  4. Looks like Week 43 production for me now which would mean delivery end Nov/beginning Dec all going well. Had already decided that I'd be holding off for the new year registration once it went beyond October so hopefully will be ready for early Jan at the very least.
  5. At least it looks like our information is matching up for what it's worth!
  6. I'm basically using this thread as a diary at this stage 😅. Latest info provided to me is production of MHEVs is to resume Wk 37 and expected to produce 1 Nr per week for Ireland. I'm told numbers awaited are limited enough here so hoping mine will be close enough to that which would mean possible delivery mid October. Although I was also told that the drought situation on the continent could have further impact on delivery of parts, etc. If you were to write a script on this whole saga, you couldn't come close with some of what has been given as excuses to date! "Europe’s rivers run dry as scientists warn drought could be worst in 500 years"
  7. That's all I was told which is second / third / fourth hand information depending where you consider a reliable source! Closest I can find about the link with China is here from earlier in the year. Extract quotes below from people in the know: "There is great concern about the lockdown in Shanghai, where we have a production centre and the Volkswagen Group has a number of plants there. Shanghai supplies us with a number of electronic components and, there is a mounting risk of delivery delays for several parts," "Although the lockdown in Shanghai may seem distant from the Czech vantage point, it may have strong repercussions. The region is China's centre of car and semiconductor production, and is an important gateway for the Czech and European car industry”
  8. Had my hopes up reading recent updates here that I might have some positive news having reached my "Build Week" and my Combi might sneak through. Not to be though with latest excuse being put down to rolling lockdowns in China affecting various parts supply. No MHEV engines produced in the last 6 weeks apparently but who knows what to believe any more. Looks like 2023 for me now which will put me in to the prestigious 1 year+ wait club. Not sure how much longer I can tolerate the VW Golf/Roof Box rig I'm rocking at the moment but left with no other viable option really!
  9. Hopefully this helps pick things up a bit. Better than no news sure! https://twitter.com/skodaautonews/status/1531918417581821953?s=20&t=Q6Ei1fIyhpaDeCnwMO4SdQ
  10. Skoda are now apologising for Octavia delays via radio adverts in Ireland anyway. Heard one for the first time yesterday. But they are also very thankful for our patience! 😆
  11. Spawning from the "Delivery times" thread, I'm currently one of the many awaiting a new Octavia Combi (Ambition 1.0TSI 110hp DSG mHEV). Originally supposed to have it by now but only recently had production date given and told best case could have the car in August but who knows. Facing in to a summer now with great plans for family road-tripping around our little island, new baby & toddler in tow (Along with all the ridiculous amount of accessories that come with them). So, a new/bigger car is a necessity rather than a luxury and throwing a roofbox on top of our current mk5 golf will only do so much. Long story short, dealer has offered one option of their demo Octavia Hatch (Style trim, same engine, colour and includes extras I had opted for in the combi) for overall cost slightly less than the new Combi. Boot space was the main reason that got me to this point and, while I still actually prefer the look of the Combi, I was very surprised to see the size of the Hatch bootspace which itself is 600L and not far off the Combi's 640L. So I'm interested in any opinions or advice generally!?
  12. Latest update from my dealer is a production week given for Week 28 which is something at least. Might be better, might be worse... Would mean delivery mid-August which would be 8 Months total wait. Judging by the general tone in here I'm assuming the worst and currently looking at other options!
  13. Street view backs it up. That green colour is questionable 😁
  14. Ordered an Octavia Combi Dec '21 and originally told April/May '22 for delivery. Latest from dealer is that they aren't taking any more orders now but from a couple of weeks ago they were giving delivery as August '22. Some logic given that I should expect mine before then but nothing overly confidence inspiring. Don't have the luxury of delaying the imminent arrival of baby Nr 2 in our house so going to have to look at a roof rack for the old VW golf 😫
