what do you mean my last bmw 5 series had a lock on it i thought that as i had aquite hi end spec car that would be standard

hi i dont want to go searching on ebay yet but does anyone know if there is a lockable glove box door to secure stuff .to be honest i thought with the level of this car it should have but alas no.

But they do come on with high beam but only on full lock left or right lock but when it's facing traffic straight on no fogs

Yes thanx for reply I can confirm that's what it was. But the lights do not come on with side lights but come on in low beam and full beam .I don't know why they would not come on with high beam seems that should be correct

hi there i have a superb elegaance 2012 i dont understand the lighting. you turn on main beam and the lower fog lights come on i thought that they are only on if you pull to the first position on the rotary lights switch and at night then just as its one of them decide to go out and come back on then a few minutes later the other one goes out then comes on again a few minutes later.i am electrical aware thinking i have intermittent bulb problem but i have checked and i have other bulbs that i have fitted does the same thing and now in daylight i switch on main beams and the lower lights are not on but if i pull to first position on rotary light switch both lower lights come on. am i going crazy what .do these lower lights ever suppose to be on when the fog light switch is not operated

Hi its not about physically closing mirrors that all works fine either with rotary knob or holding button on remote until they close I'm on about with mirrors closed I drive off and then at certain speed reached they will open automatically. CAN THE SUPERB ELEGANCE HAVE THIS FUNCTION

hi thanx for your input yes it is diesel it could be something to do with dpf regen i suppose but a little bit of history of car i bought this in december 2021 with 18000 miles and when i checked it had been off the road for 4 years think its cat n according to mot history its only had 4 mots i think because its been sitting in a barn somewhere but its immaculate now so its a diesel superb elegance 4x4 so i tried it in 3rd no problem 4th the same 5th the same and even in 6th you can hold cruise at any speed exept about 58 mph now i havent tried driving at 58mph and then press toggle on cc to hold speed but i suspect it would be ok i will replicate that senario so bit perplexed why it does not like to continue past 58 without dropping out if you think its something to do with dpf on my last car bmw 530d that had dpf problems from right when i bought it out of the garage but there was no lack of performance so within time i found the answer was to use bmw code reader and when i checked the exhaust back pressure i found it to be 40 psi and it should have no been anywhere near so i bought some dpf cleaner to put tube in and filled pipe off back pressure sensor and voila pressure went down to 2psi hence no more dpf related issues. so is there similar on skoda that i could use the same method to give it a clean out thanx for your time

sorry to jump in here i asked for help on here for a fault thats come up on my skoda superb elegance 2.0 diesel mk2 4x4 its done 26000 now its a2012 mk2 and as i read some of your threads it seems that you guys now loads of info that i dont so it seemed prudent that someone would have come across my fault its agreat car had no trouble with it in15 months but now the cruise control is got a fault its manual and the other day i was in 6th turned cc on pushing toggle to increase speed which it did until approx 58 mph it drops out i have tried a few times and it still drops out you can trick it by pulsing the toggle i can get it over 60.i have tried this in 3rd gear 4th and 5th with no fault but 6 it does not like as the car has only done26000 i would not have thought this would be going wrong any know of afault like this any help welcome

hi there i have a 2012 skoda superb elegance 4x4 this a great i got this in december2021 with 18000 on the clock i know super low mileage only done 26000 now this has been great and still is but i noticed something the other day when i was in 6 gear manual box and selected cruise control i pressed the up toggle switch and speed climbed to about 58 mph then it dropped cruise out now its never done that before so i did it again and it did same thing, so today i tried it in 3rd gear no problem and then 4th gear same thing ok then 5th all ok then 6th no joy soon as i raise speed to 58mph drops out so i wonder has anyone come across this problem the cars only done 26000 miles i would not thought i would have any problem yet

Use the multi toggle switch to unfold the mirror I had this on my last bmw it's standard on high end cars9

Skoda superb mk2 cannot get mirrors to auto unfold on driving away open and close on key and on door switch but not on speed do you have to put switch in special position

funny you should say that i recently bought a 2012 superb elegance 4x4 and yes no umbrella why do people strip a car not only that i bought it from scotland i live in essex and had it delivered just before delivered had small service but when the man delivered it i was amazed no engine cover no spring on left side of car to keep tension on brake pads 4 wheel nuts instead of 5 and on one wheel only three i could not believe it glad i was not the driver who drove it 350 miles to me still apart from that its a lovely car with only 18500 miles . sorry for droning on i just thought i would tell my story of how i got my car and i would love the original umbrella

hi there im pretty ok with most jobs on a car but i need to change the washer bottle as its cracked but thats not an easy task do have to take bumper off as thats apain

He charged 57 pounds Inc vat for programming new immob chip and cutting new blade and key was 15 pounds from ebay

why does this problem i have have to be tech based i tried the skoda manual solution but i cant turn lock in door to left to complete action or there is tuition in youtube by putting in ignition turning on press button on remote repeat three times should be done but i could not get it to work skoda is based on vw there does seem to be a problem with that range so why cant someone supply solution without getting a laptop out or buying expensive software that im never going to use again i am 69 years old an electrical engineer retired and so far ive done stuff on cars that people said you cant do it that way unless you buy tools but i have point in question i have just bought a beautiful 2012 skoda superb elegance 4x4 diesel which was stored for five years and only done 18000 miles so i was pleased to find it there was a few things to do it was delivered from scotland bought it from a garage over internet when it was delivered looked fine apart from left head light xenon was not working but to be fair the garage they gave me some money back to fix this i soon found out i new it was a category n which i already knew wing and bumper damaged repaired very well so found out the headlight damaged plastic so repaired found ballast unit 35 pound fitted fixed then drivers door mirror would not fold tuned out mirror must have been damaged on investigation found someone fitted non folding mirror so bought second hand one ebay 50 pounds fitted with original colour coded shell fixed then there was alarm did not work original was damaged pcb inside also batterys inside alarm only have life about six years so you either have to replace onboard batterys but i could find them so bought secondhand one from scrapyard 20 pounds fitted did not work then found fuse belong to towbar system blown fuse replaced success and now with such a low mileage car its fantastic with no faults ps.i just checked the brakes and the calipers and did not realise when i got my wife to press brakes that to retract pistons i could not do only to check on youtube there is a tool where you place it on the piston apply pressure to piston while turning piston clockwise well i did not have this tool but within 10 minutes i had rigged something to do job and reassembled caliper so you see im resourceful and i like to solve problems but needless to say i cant get an extra key to open the doors crazy really sorry for monologue just thought i would give history of my experience

i asked him that he said he did not know how to do it is there a simple method to do it yourself without all this faff

hi there I did not buy secondhand fob it was brand new had blade cut and locksmith programmed immobiliser chip so I can get invite key manually and start car but I don't seem to have any luck sync the key to lock and unlock I also have bought shell for original key fob but do not want to take battery out which I would change but I do not want to lose sync on that until can programme second key so I don't have any key that won't remote open doors

i have just tried method on google which is get in car put new key in ignition turn it on press close button key fob turn off do it again and again still not working still dont know how to do it ive tried what manual says put key in lock now when i tried this with new key cut it did not turn either left or right but i lubricated the lock and can turn it to the right which unlocks it but have no joy in turning it to the right when i tried to take lock out to see what aes wrong with it but got screw half way out and screw jammed sold does it come out completely or not i think some one has tried to fix it but could not so please tell me another way not complicated to programme new key i bought new key fob from ebay and went to my local locksmith to programme the immobaliser chip which he did and that starts the car but i cant get the remote to open the doors
