  1. Update. Had a brain fart, apologies. Use my trolley jack and measure distance from centre of hub to wheel arch, then torque.
  2. Evening. I am replacing the rear struts at the weekend, weather permitting. My question is, is it ok to torque the bolts whilst the car is still on its axle stands and not in the loaded position, like the the control arm bolts, when I replaced the springs, I cannot see how to do it when the wheels are back on? Is there a way to mimick load/compression? Have drop links to do at the same time, if I have time. Any advice welcome.
  3. They transferred my 1 month old Michelin CrossClimate 3s. Have to use all Weather up here. Place I got the wheels from do not provide rubber. Some UK sites do, but my alloys were £400 cheaper direct from Germany.
  4. Thank you. Not the best pic though. £620 delivered to Skye, took a bit of time to leave Germany, but 3 days once they were despatched. Very well packaged also.
  5. Good afternoon. Just had my new wheels fitted. Borbet N in Crystal Silver, 18, 7.5j, et41. Got a price from Skoda for new Themisto's, nearly fell over. These 4 delivered from Germany were cheaper than one new Themisto. And they sustainable allegedly, made from recycled alloys. Lighter per wheel, but not had a chance to feel any difference, if any. Very happy with the look and stance.
  6. Anybody know if an 8j wheel fits our Superbs please. Clear everything still and zero rubbing at full lock? Ta.
  7. Hmmmm, is a possibility I could look at. Cheers.
  8. Exactly. Its the best place on earth, but about as convenient as Point Nemo sometimes.
  9. Appreciate the advice mate. Bit of a trek from here though.
  10. Thanks Tazman. My nearest, 100 miles away. Want the car for two days at £609 inc vat. Plus two nights in a hotel. Not very viable sadly. Cheaper to buy online and my nearest tyre fitter is £30 per wheel to swap over.
  11. The do an 18 with my specs, just an ET38, am sure they would not rub compared to et46. Audi S line have an ET51, and look great in Grey. The price of new Themisto's is outrageous considering their 14 year age!
  12. Exactly. Cant be having leaks with brand new tyres. 99% going for the Vega, silver car, gunmetal grey, should work.
  13. My rear offside loses 5 psi a week, brand new tyres and valves. I have but weighing the cost and utter hassle due to location, Ebay or any wheel place with delivery, seems cheaper.
  14. Evening. My 14 year old Themisto wheels are very tatty and flaking so am thinking of buying new ones. I like the Vega Anthracite ones, my car is Silver, nice modern look. My question is mine are ET46 and the Vega's are ET38, any big issues please? Rubbing etc? Thank you.
  15. Did not think the latch has any adjustment, the t30 bolts have zero give.
