Haha no but there will be times in winter where the temperature is below 10 degrees for the whole journey and will that have a significant impact on range

I’ve got a test drive booked so will see what sort of miles per kWh I get on a run like my commute. Obviously this time of year is a good temperature, if I get say 3.5 miles per kWh now how much would I expect that to reduce in winter?

In terms of charging to my parents. I have the kids with me. On the way up we are normally running late so don’t have time to stop. On the way home we want to get home for bedtime I could charge at my parents but they don’t have a charger so it would only be 3 pin so if there for say 5 hours we wouldn’t get much charge

Interesting I was speaking to a dealer and expecting them to massively oversell the range. Instead he told me that with an Enyaq 80 at motorway speeds in winter I’d probably only get about 190 miles

Thanks so you think even in cold weather and motorway speeds I’d still get 3 miles per kWh? I’ve seen some people claiming you might only get 2.5 in which case the range isn’t long enough

I’m considering replacing my diesel SUV with an Enyaq 80. My reservation is that I regularly do a 220 mile round trip to my parents and don’t want to have to stop to charge on the journey i know the quoted range of the 80 is over 300 miles but given this journey is 95% motorway what is the realistic range of the Enyaq 80 at those speeds in both summer and winter?

I am looking at the Kodiaq and ideally with the 2.0 TSI 190 engine however I’m not sure of the economy and feel I may end up having to go with the 2.0 TDI 200 My commute is about 80 miles. Half is motorway and then the other half a combination of 50mph and heavy traffic What sort of economy would I expect from the 2.0 TSI? I’d need high 30s ideally 40mpg for it to work for me

I’m looking at a 2022 Superb Sportline and it has the virtual cockpit With the virtual cockpit I know you can do a full map view using the car sat nav. When I have CarPlay connected can I display the google maps or waze map in the virtual cockpit too?

Thanks yeah I’ve seen them. Problem is I’ll only use this extra booster in the 3rd seat a few times a year so don’t want a full 3 seat car seat the whole time

I am considering a Superb estate but I need to sometimes fit a 3rd child seat in the back between two isofix seats. Does anyone have one and could measure the distance between the two outer isofix points so I can see if my other seat would fit?

Yes speaking with a dealer about a car I was interested in I did get the impression they didn’t really seem to know what the schedule was for anything For the 2.0TSI 190 superb which DSG model does it have? I have been assuming it’s one with a 40k oil change interval

Good question on the cambelt I’m not sure as neither of my cars had them and haven’t looked at the Skoda cost for a cambelt as the 2.0TSI is a chain Yes a couple of filters as addons is fine but a DSG oil change every 40k on top of the servicing increases the cost to make servicing a Skoda more than servicing a BMW

I’m looking at a 22 plate 2.0TSI and will be doing about 14k a year Yes I have previously had a BMW and a Nissan. Both of their plans cover everything that is on a service schedule (excluding air con refresh) I get the point about filters being at different times depending on area but things like spark plugs and the DSG oil change which have fixed mileages surely should be on the plan

I’m just trying to work out service plans though Most other manufacturers seem to offer a plan that covers everything which has a scheduled interval. However reading the Skoda one it seems the plan only covers the service and then other items like brake fluid, DSG oil change etc are all still charged as extras Is that really true? Given they have a set service schedule I assumed like other manufacturers they’d be included in any service plan

That’s good to know you can still get 40mpg at 90mph. Yeah limit here is 70mph and I wouldn’t be able to do that much on my commute. I guess what might drop my economy is the bit in heavy traffic

Hi - I’m looking at getting an Octavia VRS TSI estate. I like the idea of having the performance at the weekends however I don’t want the car to cost a fortune to run mid-week for my commute i have an 80 mile commute of motorway,50 and traffic. Is mid 40s mpg unrealistic? I did consider the diesel but not sure I want to be buying a diesel now especially as my commute goes into the ULEZ. The PHEV is tempting but more expensive and my commute is too far for the electric range

Thanks for all your replies. Think I need to get a test drive of a 190 TSI to see how I get on with it. Hopefully I can get an extended test drive so I can try my commute and see how I find it does
