  1. That’s good to hear that I could get 40-50mpg if I drive sensibly. It’s an impressive economy for such a big car And are people happy with the DSG?
  2. That’s on the 2.0 TSI or 1.4?
  3. I’m not sure about the performance of the 1.4 plus that has a cambelt which once I pay to change that would pretty much negate any fuel saving over the 2.0
  4. Thanks. Yes I could consider a diesel but not sure in the current diesel climate I want to buy one or I could go electric but the initial purchase price is still too high
  5. I’m thinking of getting a 2021 Superb 2.0 TSI 190 DSG Sportline estate and am wondering what sort of economy I should expect My commute is 80 miles. About half motorway then the other half is 50mph dual carriageway but with a lot of heavy traffic Is getting early to mid 40s on a run like that unrealistic?
  6. How much was the belt change on the Golf going to be? How does the superb cost compare?
  7. It’s all making the PHEV seem like it’s going to cost more money to run than the TSI 190
  8. Fair point. So would you say still service the TSI 190 every 10k or just every year which would be 15k for me
  9. Ah ok thanks. Will that make the iv even worse for cost then? Fixed I guess is every 10k so every 8 months for me. What sort of distance is flexible likely to get on the 190 TSI?
  10. Apologies it was £700 not £900 but that was quoted via the service booking on the Skoda site just for me to get an idea on price before I decide which engine to get £400 is much better but that’s still eating into any cost saving for the iv especially with electric prices now the iv isn’t that much cheaper anyway
  11. Been looking at this and is it correct that changing the cam belt is around £900? while the iv would save me money in fuel over the 190 TSI. All that saving would get wiped out with the cam belt cost!
  12. What are the servicing intervals on an Enyaq? I would be doing about 15k a year
  13. Great thanks - so for the 2.0 TSI the chain never needs changing I assume? But I guess the water pump belt does?
  14. Thanks. Do you know roughly how much it costs to change?
  15. Hi - I’m considering a Superb. Either the 2.0 TSI 190 or the iV Can anyone let me know if the engines use a cam belt or cam chain? If it’s a belt. When does it need changing and how much does it cost?
  16. Hi - I am considering the petrol powered VRS estate for my next car but am wondering if anyone has it and what sort of economy they are getting? My commute is 80 miles of which half is motorway and then the rest is a mix of dual carriageway and heavy traffic
  17. I am very tempted to purchase an Enyaq 80 however with the current shortages getting a new one is a very long wait and year old ones are few and far between and going for nearly 50k Its making me think I should just spend 35k on a petrol powered Kodiaq. Yes it will cost me more to run but is the Enyaq worth spending 15k more for?
  18. Ah ok. I guess that will mean more used 80s available soon but still at a premium
  19. I am probably looking at getting a used one but maybe not at current used prices Thats interesting about the 60. Is that just due to supply or are they phasing the 60 out and only offering the 80?
  20. I am considering an Enyaq. My commute a couple of days a week is an 80 mile round trip so the 60 would easily cope However once a month I visit family and that’s a 210 mile round trip with nowhere to charge at their house i know the quoted range of the 60 would manage that trip but I assume in winter I’m not going to make 210 miles and more like 170? in which case is the 80 worth the extra so I can get there and back without charging. It’s just the 80 does seem to carry quite a premium
  21. Current car is a Nissan X-Trail diesel
  22. Thanks and that’s good to know that even with a lot of short journeys you’ve not had any issues with the DPF
  23. I am looking to purchase a superb sportline estate but I can’t decide which engine would be my best choice I’m a private buyer so there’s no tax incentives on a company car I commute to work twice a week which is an 80 mile round trip. Including motorway and then traffic and goes into the London ULEZ My other journeys are mainly local with some 200 mile round trips to family My engine thoughts 2.0 TSI 190 - cheapest to buy but what sort of economy would I get. My current car gives about 48mpg 2.0 TDI 200 - would give good economy and my runs should prevent DPF issues but is going diesel now a bad plan and could the London ULEZ start charging for any diesel to enter iV - most expensive to buy. Local journeys on electric is attractive but what will my economy be on my longer commute plus it’s the most expensive option to buy
  24. I am looking at changing my existing diesel and changing to a PHEV since my commute takes me into the ULEZ and I am currently having to pay my commute is an 80 mile round trip with half of that being motorway once all the electric range is used up on the Superb what sort of economy would I expect to get?
