  1. Thank you for replying. Well, while the car is moving, the consumption is normal, the issue appears after driving and then idling. While stationary and at idle, like stopping in traffic, i see the the consumption going up and down between 15 to 16 l/ 100 km, within 15 seconds or so and keep varying, untill I start moving again, only thenreading starts going down gradually
  2. Hi mac, My car is mk1 model 2003 auto gear wire throttle. The variation is not over a journey, it happens ina matter of 15 seconds or though, it goes up and down between 15 and 16 L/100 km. While driving on straight road, it gets down to normal consumbtion. The issue happens only while on idle
  3. Hi everyone, The average fuel consumption guage in the dashboard, which show liters/100 km, on idle, it increases from 15, 15.3, 15.7, 15.9 and then goes down again 15.7, 15.4, 15.3, 15, and goes up again in similar manner. It increases and decreases in a matter of 15 seconds or so. Have anyone faced this issue before? Thank you
  4. Thank you for your reply, no need to apologize dear Thank you Ken. I clarified that the engine was already replaced and I am not sure about about the code of the new engine. I cant use the data from the vehicle as it reflects the original motor not the new one

  7. Hi Octavians, I need a help with the engine code sticker that is located on the timing belt cover on the right side of the engine. The original sticker was washed out so I managed to get another sticker peeled it from another engine. I believe my engine is AKL - but I am not sure. My car is MK1 2003 engine 1.6 petrol wire throttle auto gear. The engine was replaced but I dont know its code. Is there a way to know the engine code without the sticker on the timing belt. PS: attached another sticker I peeled off from another engine. If you can help and write me the missing letters plz Sorry for the long post đŸ˜ŦđŸ˜Ŧ
  8. Saying that, thats why i put this post as 3D printing is a feasible alternative. Do you have MK1 3D files to exchange?
  9. In Egypt, importing this part and after currency conversion and customs and taxes, it will be a non reasonable price ☚ī¸â˜šī¸
  10. I do agree, and the suitability of the material to the part function. For me, I am trying to find some parts for my car but with no luck, or with exaggerated price. Here is an example, the cover for the nut for the engine cover
  11. Hi, An idea, some small aprts in our cars are hard to find, especially for old cars. Is is possible to 3D-print those parts if the .stl is available, which is the printable 3D file. If you have .stl files for MK1, please share alonge with its photo, for everyone here. Thanks
  12. For the inside, you need to know whether its just dusty or rusty. If dusty, you can get hot air gun, hover it on the sticky line gently until the the transparent civer detaches, then with damped microfiber and gently remove dust from the shiny parts that reflects light, then clean with a shaving foam. For the inside of the transparent cover, you can wash with foam and damped microfiber then rinse with distilled water to avoid white traces of normal water when ot dries. Dry everything with dry microfiber then glue all back with proper silicon
  13. Hi all, I have mk1 model 2003 automatic with wire throttle. When the engine is on idle, i see the fuel consumption increasing in the dashboard - litres / 100 km, then starts to decrease as i start to move with the car. Did anyone face this and had a good solve? Thanks
  14. Is there a difference if the transmission is auto or manual, or is it the same sensor for both?
  15. Thanks Pete ... your are great 🙏🙏. I meant my engine control code, not the engine code .. my mistake đŸ˜ŦđŸ˜Ŧ. How can I know my engine code? Is it written somewhere on the engine? Or i can found it using VCDS scanner? Thank you again
