  1. Hi, haven’t got a yeti yet but was looking and wanted a 1.4 TSI but didn’t want the 4wd system and the leaky sunroof of the L&K models so have been looking at the 1.2 TSI SEL Drive. Don’t want a diesel as do short journeys more often then long ones and less problems with the TSI’s. Any way, wanted to see if anyone had swapped a 1.4 TSI into a 1.2 TSI Yeti. Also wanted to ask if someone had done the swap that they’d then up plated there FWD car so it could tow 1500 kg like the FWD 2 litre 110 diesel as both engines have same torque. I know diesels are better for towing but just thought I’d ask the complete random questions to see if anyone had that same crazy thought on there mind. It’s worth an ask at least.
  2. Just come back from Scotland now and got AVG 66.91 MPG fully loaded again over 521.9 miles (35.41 litres). Averaged 61.5 MPG (at the pump) over the 2166.9 miles I drove on my holiday. Best I got to a tank in the highlands was AVG 59.26 MPG over 534.4 miles (40.94 litres). For the other 2 fill ups I did, it didn’t drop below AVG 55 MPG to a tank even with some overtakes/fun.
  3. Same. I’ve had my Fabia up to an unofficial 120 mph and not had any problems with temperatures. It still had more to give but had to slow down due to traffic in the far distance.
  4. Beautiful shot of yr Yeti. Is that grill cover from Heko as mine is or custom?
  5. The top grill from factory has half of it covered anyway. Thermostat is working and plus I’d get warnings way in advance of it overheating. Also I’ve driven in the recent heat wave with it on and it hasn’t missed a beat, the oil and temp don’t get any hotter then with it off.
  6. I also have a grill cover for my MK3 Fabia that blocks the top grill. That improves efficiency and warms it up quicker for those shorter journeys.
  7. Im currently on 215/45R16 on some Uniroyal rain sports and want to get some eco tyres after they run out. I could get the VW polo 185/60R15 Buenos Aires rims which are an aerodynamic rim for the 1L TSI Bluemotion also there isn’t any difference in the rpm in terms of tyre height.
  8. 28.69 Litres. Only cost £40 filling up at Costco E5.
  9. Just done a run to Scotland fully loaded and got AVG 69.48 MPG over 439.1 miles tank to tank.
  10. I was pushing it a little more then but I also didn’t fuel up after that little run from the coast as I kinda knew that my display was gonna be way off compared to the pump. Also with the remap with my 1.2 TSI if I put my foot down (in a lower gear) then on the real time mpg display it shows 7 MPG and drains the range display 🤣🤣. I’ve got a Scotland trip planned in July overnight fully loaded, so will be interesting to see what I can get in comparison. Definitely won’t be as good as will be fully loaded and will have a couple pit stops.
  11. Am using 97 Oct (Costco fuel). Just recently had mot and full service done weekend. Haven’t changed tyres yet. They’re all still Uniroyal rain sport.
  12. Wasn’t exactly a eco run this one but I recon there’s definitely room for improvement if I hadn’t gone into Cardiff.
  13. Definitely drains fuel when I put my foot down. I had a look on the real time MPG and at full throttle it was showing 7 MPG whereas before it was showing more than double that under full throttle. The predicted range also shoots down.
  14. that’s before I did 1 click at the pump.
  15. Hey guys, it’s been awhile, I have recently remapped my 1.2 110 TSI hatch and have found it to be a rocket ship in comparison to what it was 🏎️🏎️🏎️. It rly rips now. Anyway, before i finally got a remap I had done a couple eco runs, one of them being Scotland and another that I don’t think I posted here. Today with my remapped car I managed to average 74.18 MPG over 228.1 miles going to and from wales. My previous record in my car was a AVG 64.96 mpg (non remap). This 74 mpg run was mixed driving, most of it was motorway at 55-60 but there was a 50 limit (roadworks) towards the M4 bridge and then the normal 50 limit on the other side past Cardiff. I did some country driving and then went through the heart of Cardiff to get to the other side to try out a Greggs Outlet. I then returned and the wind was against me on my return, pushing me from side to side. I highly suggest getting a remap done as it completely changes the car in performance and if yr carful enough economy as well.
  16. My trip computer is out by 1.6 MPG. I know this because I have calculated my fuel consumption in the past and compared to the trip computer my official AVG MPG was 1.6 lower.
  17. With me filling it up today I only filled it up to 2 clicks and didn’t try and cram in fuel to the top.
  18. I managed to crack the 80’s by getting 81.2 MPG. It did show 81.4 MPG but that was only for a second. This is in my 1.2 110 TSI that’s not remapped just cruising along at 50 MPH. This is what my AVG for both start and since refuelling was after my day out today.
  19. In the manual I think it says it has a 7 litre reserve plus a 45 litre tank so roughly a 52 litre tank but if u push the little black thing in u can cram fuel all the way up to the fuel cap.
  20. I did a mistake with my calculations as I always thought 5 litres was 1 gallon but it’s 4.56 litres which is 1 gallon so my overall avg was 64.96 mpg. I brimmed the tank and managed to get 58.93 litres in it from empty. That’s when I did my calculations. I did a avg speed of 47 mph. The trip computer said I did 66.6. With the Skoda Fabia it’s a 45 litre tank with a extra 7 litre reserve so managed to squeeze in a extra 6.93 litres. From where I filled up I managed to my next destination down in the Lake District 67.4 mpg. That’s what my trip computer said. I managed to do it in under an 8th of a tank on the needle. When I next go up north I want to just fill it up to one click as fuel prices are jumping everywhere I go. I don’t know how to edit the comments I made.
  21. Remarkable results that u got in yr Citigo while u had it. Do u remember wether or not u had eco tyres that reduced rolling resistance or anything to aid u in these attempts? Also did u draft a lorry? Just asking as I want to crack 900 miles in my 1.2 110 TSI MK3 Fabia and have a set of sporty tyres on. I’ve managed 839.5 up to John O Groats with luggage and averaged 71.2 mpg but I definitely could have done better as traffic wasn’t on my side on the A9. My trip computer only ever said 66.5 mpg when my car ran out. I know I can definitely crack it if I don’t go up as high in the country.
  22. That is very impressive what that guy got out of his Citigo. When I go on longer journeys I brim the tank and depending on how late I leave it can put 50 litres in + on empty my car has a 7 litre reserve so that’s about 58 litres. I travel at night and I wouldn’t subject my car to hot weather with a grill block. Also my recent trip I had a make shift grill block and kept an eye on temps and they all where within the normal area. My intercooler is at the bottom of my car. I get where yr getting at with coolant and oil temps but as the nights tend to be cooler then the days I’d try and plan around the hot days/nights. Thx for the link to the Citigo thread and the hypermiler website. I should have added when I go on my longer journeys I go and do stuff at those places and just so happened to want to go to Scotland for a little holiday. When ever I need to go north again I’ll take tips from the hypermiler website.
