  1. UPDATE: PROBLEM SOLVED When investigating the dpf pressure sensor itself, I opened up the heatshield to discover a molten mass of plastic. The sensor was toast. Ordered a new one (part no. 03L906051D) along with another plug which was also toast.......ebay was £40 cheaper than main dealer for the same part. No idea why it would have totally melted but hope the new one will survive better. Worthy of note is that the sensor has two pipe connections but confusingly, only one pipe coming from the engine........after putting in a call to the (very helpful) Skoda dealer, it seems one port is simply left open to the air (atmospheric pressure). Now I'm waiting patiently (not) for the part to arrive. Thanks to all who commented.
  2. Yes...tits the yellow engine warning light but dpf is the only alarm showing on obd
  3. 2 litre diesel
  4. I had a DPF alarm which kept coming on all last summer - particularly when towing my caravan. Thinking it could be poor fuel I have not run it below a half full tank for nearly a year and even added DPF cleaner for a few times but no joy so I just kept resetting the light via OBD. No running problems were experienced. It was quiet all winter when I wasn't towing and emissions were great at the MOT last week. Today, I towed the caravan for the first time this year and behold - light came on. Suggestions welcome please as it is very annoying.
  5. Hi all, I have a 2015 Octavia 3 hatchback with an after-market tow bar and 7 pin socket and all is working fine with my trailer. However, I've now acquired a small caravan and want to upgrade the wiring to a 13 pin socket without paying dealer prices - probably with an after market wiring kit (comments please) I've seen some threads where people have fitted their own tow bars etc. BUT..... I have these questions if any of you can help: 1) Are there any sockets readily available in the loom to save making separate connections? 2) If no sockets, are there any notes of caution when diy wiring into the loom? 3) What coding needs to be done if any and if so, is this a diy job (if so how do I do that please - I have a OBD reader and phone app - will this do the job) 4) Anything else I need to know please? Thanks in anticipation.
  6. Now ordered from LLL at £39.00 'all in'. (a UK ebayer wanted £40.00 + p&p for a 2nd hand dirty and scratched part which nearly hooked me in) Many thanks to Breezy Pete and all of you that have helped change my mind. I love this forum - thanks to all.
  7. Many thanks for the advice.......helps with my "main dealer" worries. Thanks for taking the time to reply so quickly
  8. Thanks J.R. - I guess I was nervous about dealership markups but will give Breezy_Pete a nudge. :-)
  9. Anyone know where i can buy a NEW C Pillar trim panel from please. I am looking for drivers side lower panel - Part No 5E98677669B9 Only ads I've found online don't ship to the UK and I'm reluctant to go through the main dealer !!! Thanks
  10. Yeah, I too struggled to hear it with my "old" lights - especially with dogs and luggage in the boot - so it doesn't really bother me either 😃
  11. Hi, Many thanks for the help. Yes I did use the trailer (with filament lights) on my current car OK - but its no great loss if the bypass relay buzzer doesn't work - I was just curious.
  12. Thanks for the comment on the bypass relay - I too struggled to hear it with my "old" lights - especially with dogs and luggage in the boot - so it doesn't really bother me either 😃
  13. Hi, I am about to fit LED lights to my trailer and so have 2 questions please.... Does the Octavia Mk3 use Canbus? If so, should I assume that my trailer LEDs need to be Canbus compatible? Note.....my previous trailer used standard filament bulbs and worked fine (including the after market indicator buzzer).
