I'm thinking it's got to be a wiring issue, or quite possibly the aftermarket parts being poor
-
unfortunately, light came back on whilst driving home last night. looks like its a costly one..
-
cleared the fault light, it hasnt come instantly back which is promising! as before it was coming back instantly when i cleared it. fingers crossed it was a fuse error.
-
yes correct, there was a yellow fuse in this socket, and the rest was all red they was actually labelled with the amp aswell
-
changed the fuse last night, havent had chance to clear the fault yet, but it seems as though there was a 5A fuse in 29 which the diagram says should have been 10A
-
yes, thats fine, im happy its cheap! think the garage will charge me around £70 to fit the part too so isnt too expensive, just need it fixed now, getting stressful with MOT due soon
-
Thanks again Nige, thats cheaper than the aftermarket part i brought. i shall try the fuse method tonight, failing that i will give this part one more try and order it tomorrow and get a local garage to fit for me. appreciate all your time and help! have a great day bud
-
thats the reason i tried the part a second time, i thought the same after the first time, but i thought surely i cant buy 2 parts that dont work. maybe i should bite the bullet and just get a genuine part from skoda, or maybe even take it to a garage and get them to look as they will offer warranty, i was just trying to get this fixed cheaply but my time is now running out with MOT due next month
-
hi Nige, it was just an aftermarket part from amazon, i have tried two different branded ones from amazon, i didnt fancy paying the £130 Skoda wanted for a genuine one. https://www.amazon.co.uk/AUTOHAUX-Auxiliary-Coolant-6R0965561A-Engine/dp/B089VVLT6P/ref=asc_df_B089VVLT6P/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=499328239324&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=5559810292906137484&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1006933&hvtargid=pla-1425868710912&psc=1

Verifying fault code P261A - coolant pump 'B'
Jasonb27 replied to mrhappy's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
i have this same code. i have changed the pump twice but both times the error comes back around 30minutes later or after some short driving, any ideas? -
hi Nige, its just been the one fault code i have got each time. P261a. it says manufacturer control. not the best with cars.
-
will do, i shall change the fuse tonight and put it on the reader tomorrow and see if i can clear the fault and il be back here with the results, have a great day
-
perfect! il be sure to try this as would be a lovely cheap fix! appreciate your time and effort to look into this!
-
thanks pete! i will grab a fuse on my way home from work today and give that a try, is it a 10amp fuse that i need? regards
-
