Hold the front page. Just chased, got a new contact at the dealer as my salesman has gone to sell house in the USA instead! Anyway, he says STATUS 30 for my car now, which is in transit to port. If that's true, who in the UK can give me a rough idea of how slow the ports are getting cars into UK dealers? I am baffled that if this is true, why they wouldn't tell me that - I've only been asking for this kind of progress update since August!
Oh and for the record I don't believe my Petrol VRS order is held up to drive EV sales - nonsense. I can't get an EV or Hybrid either. I am a touch more excited than I was this morning, I do hope this is accurate info.

I was informed that my petrol VRS left the factory 19th November, I collected it 13th December. So, fingers crossed you'll have it very soon. Enjoy 🙂

  2. I've had my VRS hatch for just short of a month covering around 1500 miles. Previous car was a 19 plate BMW 320d M Sport. Overall I have to say I'm seriously impressed with the VRS, true to say that the interior trim quality is not quite up to the BMW and the infotainment takes a little getting used to but I've had absolutely no problems with it all. I only really have two gripes and they're very minor:

    • when the windscreen wipers are in auto mode the passenger side wiper doesn't return to the home position following a wipe, it's raised by an inch or two... If you knock it off auto it immediately returns to the home position... It's a little weird but is probably classed as a 'feature' 🙂
    • The boot lid opens extremely high, you have to be a little careful in some underground carparks that it doesn't hit the ceiling (!) fair enough you can stop it before this happens with the button on the remote but you do have to be aware that this is a possibility.

Apart from those two very minor gripes I'm really happy with it. It drives really nicely, has a decent amount of power when required and is nicely settled on the road... I'd definitely get one again unless I get tempted by the S3 saloon 🙂

Do you know what build week yours was allocated ?

yeah, it was built week 39, delayed due to a missing part (or parts) I received the VIN week 41.... we're now in week 47 (I think)..... the dealer reckons I should be picking it up within 3 weeks

Do you know what build week you had allocated ? Mine was week 42 and it has been delayed “in build” according to the dealer. They have said they don’t know the Vin number.

Mine was built week 39, delayed due to a missing part (or parts) I received the VIN week 41... My dealer tells me he has another 4 cars built the same week in the same situation.

My first post on this thread: my car was also built during the week beginning 26/09/22 (week 39), but is also "stuck" awaiting component(s). I ordered a VRS 2.0tsi manual with DCC on 22/2/2022.

My dealer tells me he has another 4 cars in the same situation... Mine is also a VRS 2.0 tsi with DCC (ordered 14th feb 22) but I also have the DSG box and reversing camera... I know it's a bit of a leap but perhaps it's a DCC chip issue causing the delay?

My build date went ahead as planned 12/09/22 and my car arrived at my dealership a few days ago. I collect on Saturday :)  I’ll update the spreadsheet once I’ve collected . She’s beautiful

Nice one...!! My build went ahead 26/09/22 but unfortunately has been held at the factory "awaiting a component". No idea what the missing component is, the dealer is unable to tell me... Hopefully won't be too much longer.
