  1. From the reviews it seems to be quite good for the money, however lacks DSP. In theory that is not an issues, as you have sort-of DSP in the infotaiment. I went with Axton with DSP, which was slightly more expensive than Focal. It sounds really, really good, however it might be developing some issue. Since some time it's giving high pitch noise on morning start-up, which is coming from the amp itself, not the speakers. So am not really sure if i should recommend it or not
  2. For infotaiment you can update from USB, but for pop pop you need to upgrade telematics using ODIS.
  3. Well, amp in head unit is decent, but that's all. That's why external amp brings another improvement. Amp i used is actually Plug And Play, so even in leased car it's not a problem. You can get harness dedicated to VAG car for this amp. You just plug the harness in place of original head unit plug, HU plug to the harness and than to amp. No new wiring needed, no wire cutting, nothing. One question - have you dampened interior of the doors, behind the speakers? This also brought improvement for me.
  4. Ok, so might depends on the market than. They were not present in Poland before, at least not that i know of. And i think i've seen mention of them in relation to 1969 in other thread.
  5. There are Pay To Fuel and Pay To Park applications in the store, i don't think they were there before. Those are probably only new functions.
  6. Actually i don't think it's the case. VAG is very strict about it now. There was a time, when in Poland we had a private company that was Seat distributor and they were offering "factory tuning". But more or less 10 years ago VW/SEAT has ended this deal (in a very nasty way), and they moved Seat distribution to VGP (Volkswagen Group Polska), which belongs 100% to VAG and is now only distributor of all VAG brands in Poland. After this change they of course do not offer this "factory tuning" option. Might be, that similar setup was used in other countries, but i doubt it's still the case.
  7. That would still be no. That would be Skoda software, but NOT approved for YOUR car. And no Skoda dealership will ever do that. They are limited by the tools they have and by contracts with country distributor.
  8. Might be, that they changed the format. Anyway i did the upgrade and it's legit. Ethernet switch and Marcury - don't know, but they are not updated during the process. As for my previous observations - i can confirm it's MUCH more responsive than 1941. Menu is smoother, but mostly Android Auto starts quite a bit much faster. One more observation, very important to me. I live in a place, where there seems to be quite some interferrence. There are two places where my AA connection was always interrupted, like a clockwork, always in the same places. Well... now it's gone. I mean no disconnections. I don't know how, but they fixed AA connection resiliency.
  9. Updated yesterday (thank a lot @Giannis20 😊). Seems a bit more responsive (or maybe more than a bit? will need more testing), and there seem to be 2 new apps in the shop (Pay to Park and Pay to Fuel) - haven't installed those. No more difference that i could see so far.
  10. Actually those speakers are very capable, and it's relatively easy to achieve strong, deep bass in car due to it's size (low volume/low amount of air that needs to be moved). In my case another improvement been brought be adding external amplifier. Used Axton 592DSP. Cannot find my (rough) measurements, but by ear it goes below 30Hz, which is enough for me (mostly listening to rock and metal, so not much going on below this). It's also loud enough, and can be tweaked by using DSP in the amp. Edit: found measurement screenshot. This is done using Android Audio Tool, and never learned how to make really good measurements, so it doesn't have any smoothing, it's very raw. Measurement taken using UMIK-1 mic. As you can see it can go really low, and by tweaking amp's DSP result can be really good. I prefer it this way, as most subwoofers doesn't really give you that quality of bass, that control (which in case of Focal's combined with Axton is really great, even metal that according to many is recorded poorly, sounds really great). Subwoofer will give you quantity, which might be desirable with some genres of music.
  11. Most important question now: are you happy with the sound
  12. Glad you got it sorted Told ya there must be something wrong, as those Focal's are really nice. But didn't expect it to be the foam
  13. Interesting and quite possible theory @bdavbdav. Nice shot, i wouldn't have thought of it.
  14. @Giannis20 looking at your picture it seems possible, that foam, when pressed, is pressing against speaker suspension and impacts the sound. However that doesn't explain why you do not have enough treble, as this is coming from tweeters, that are not blocked by the foam (i assume ). Anyway try whatever you can, as really your experience is the opposite of my experience with Focal, so there must be something wrong. Even if they are not the best speakers out there, they are objectively way better than factory speakers.
