  1. Can confirm that the car has run fine since these where changed - this was the part number for the item - 06L 109 259 A
  2. Haven't used the car in a while because i didn't want it getting any worse - however I replaced both the Camshaft Adjustment magnet sensors and went on a little drive today and that seems to have fixed the problem with the lumpy idle and stalling. But further driving needs to happen to confirm but I may be toying with the idea of getting rid of the car anyhow.
  3. The Car starts fine - its when its between 4-10 mins it starts to run rough then after that its fine. That battery replacement didn't do anything to help so going to be buying a new camshaft adjustment sensor and fitting that as a new error code popped up when the mechanic was fitting the new battery and coding it in.
  4. Getting the battery changed on Saturday so with any luck it will sort the problem out at least. If not the next step is the change the thermostats and maybe have a flush of the coolant in the system and see if that makes any difference. Hopefully get the car scanned also on Saturday so will be able to report back any codes. The problem is by the time I get to the place the car is fine and doesn't display any symptoms so its hard for the garage to diagnose.
  5. I did the reset of the DSG but having looked it up its more of a throttle body reset, Didn't make any difference to the running of the car. I have not done a CCA test on the battery. Think I'm just going to get a new one fitted to the car. The current battery is the original 7 years old now and done 135k miles. I may even get the thermostats changed at the same time as I have read that the DSG has its own stat.
  6. Yea I've never seen one do this either. I'll give that a go tomorrow. It doesn't do it when it's warmed up. Just between 3 and 10 min usually. Pretty sure it's the DQ250 6 speed. The oil and filter where done at 119,700ish miles. This was my next port of call, as my theory probably completely wrong is that when it first starts. It revs higher (higher energy into the system) runs fine. Revs drop - lower energy and something is struggling, after 10 mins or so enough juice to keep happy and run fine until next or fully cooled down. It's worse cold temps but has only started down it the last 6 months ish
  7. It was a while ago that I had it looked over and the waterpump changed (with a sensor attached to it) that was flagging up. I'm pretty sure the mechanic said there where no other fault codes showing up regarding the engine after he changed that part. I'll try and take it back and get a fault code read again. Millage is high but all over 100k are just motorway miles. I do have a video showing the dash when its in 'D' flicking between D and D1 - this is when its runs rough and sometimes stalls - oh and when it does do this, the dash lights dim with each 'rough idle' it does. Uploaded a video - not the best but does show it swapping from D to D1 - once warmed up doesn't do this at all. Rough Running - D - D1.mp4
  8. Did you ever get to the bottom of this? My 2017 FL VRS TSI DSG has been doing this on cold start. When revs are higher on first start its okay, once its slightly warmed up around 3 - 10 mins of driving - it runs rough on idle and will stall when slowing down or at a stop after say 10 mins it doesn't display any symptoms and runs fine. Had a error come up about a sensor which is attached to the water pump - which was replaced. If you leave it idling for about 7 mins and set off it runs fine. Mechanic doesn't know what's causing it. In warmer weather it doesn't seem to happen as frequent as the engine warms up faster? maybe could be thermostat
  9. Thank you! guessing that's the latest I can go up to on the hardware version I have installed
  10. Hi @varooom These are what it says when I enter the hidden menu. First SW Train is '----' but if you go into the 'Version' section you get the other picture. If I go into the logging section it shows the 2nd picture. Thanks. Lou.
  11. Hi @varooomThanks for the reply. I'm not sure what you mean by the "SW Train" version. I can see that there are new maps available to download which I will do but for the 'Software' section it says this.
  12. Hi, I recently picked up an Octavia VRS FL 2017 model, and would like to see if there is an update available for my car. Pretty sure mine is a super early version of the FL. Thanks. Lou.
  13. Hi All, Been Browsing these forums for some time. Had a 2007 L&K Octavia 2.0TDI auto. Now moved onto the VRS and what difference 10 years and few HP more makes. I plan on tinkering with her a little but not to much. Some easy hacks to make her run and look even better.
