  1. Thanks guys for helping by providing valuable inputs. I hope you guys had great holidays. Updates: Another issue has been observed during driving on a dark road in the night that right headlight is now way off (light dipped towards the road). I believe this issue happened after replacing the rear control swing arms as headlight positioning sensor is attached these arms. But not sure why headlight alignment (projection of light differs between left and right side), any idea? Had a discussion with workshop. They have checked the car and appointment is now planned to try to further tune the alignment of the wheels and headlights of the car. Happy New Year to you all.
  2. Hi Alasadair1, Thanks for your reply. I've not checked these recently. But I doubt that front suspensions or top mounts are faulty as these were done one year ago. Rear springs were also changed around one year ago. And now rear control arms have been replaced. I've found the following workshop manual to adjust the camber on the front axle. Sorry about my basic questions. I'm just an ordinary owner of Octavia and trying to get understanding about the issue from Experts here. In case workshop doesn't agree to adjust the camber, do the values in report (shared previously) are OK to live with, or camber is critical and must be adjusted? Best Regards,
  3. Adding a screenshot of alignment report.
  4. Hi fellows, Skoda Octavia 1Z3 rear tyres 225/45R17 got damaged from insed. Major damage was on the rear left. Car was checked by workshop. While trying to work with alignment one of the alignment bolt got broken. They said rear control arms need to be replaced. After replacing rear control arms and alignment done by workshop, car is still going right and steering is bit on the left side (not straight). Their report shows camber (-1 degree 04’) out of specs. Tried to talk with workshop about front right camber out of specs, but they said camber can not be fixed. Is this a case? If some adjustment is possible then could someone share workshop manual? Looking forward to your reply. Thanks
  5. Hi Skoda family, My car has been driven 80000 km after the last oil change done by workshop. Now I'm aim to change the transmission oil with DIY. So far I found out the code of gearbox, capacity (2L) of oil to fill in, and location of the drain plug. But I'm struggling to find the correct location of the fill plug and the official guide to fill the required capacity. I tried to follow this but unable to find the plug as described in this manual. Can someone help to share the required info. Best Regards,
  6. Bundle of thanks for your reply with explanation.
  7. Thanks for your reply. I did suggested checks and all works fine but strangely on straight steering + neutral gear, right side doesn't work.
  8. Hi Skoda Fellows, I need to change the xenon d1s bulb on Skoda Ocatvia 2011 because color has turned pink/red on left side. There are two variants available in the market. First with 12v and second with 85v. My guess is that OEM (original) is 12v, plz correct if this understanding is incorrect. I'm looking for a good quality replacement. As per my research on internet, it seems that OSRAM is the best. I like to buy one of the followings (preference is #2): 1. https://www.osram.com/ecat/XENARC ORIGINAL-Xenon headlight lamps-Car lighting-Automotive/com/en/GPS01_1056953/ZMP_83508/ 2. https://www.osram.com/ecat/XENARC COOL BLUE INTENSE (NEXT GEN)-Xenon headlight lamps-Car lighting-Automotive/com/en/GPS01_3570162/ZMP_4061814/ but both are 85v. So I want to double check that is it OK to use 85v bulb on Skoda Octavia 2011 headlights? Just of understanding, if both types of bulb (12v and 85v) are suitable then what is the difference? Best Regards,
  9. Yes, but question is that left side fog light is working with: 1. Lights switch is on Auto setting, 2. straight steering. but right side doesn’t (it works with turned steering only).
  10. Thanks for clarifying. I learnt this on the same day. Any idea why this bulb works when turning right and not while steering is straight? I confirm that DRL lights doesn't work on both sides. I'm thinking to replace the bulbs.
  11. Yes, it is under the main headlight. There are two bulbs (1 small and 1 big). Bulb with red arrow in the attached pic is the one which works when steering is turned towards right direction but doesn't work when steering is straight to serve as DRL.
  12. Apologies for very late update on this. It was the faulty sensor. Replaced it and issue gone. Bundle of thanks for everyone for the help.
  13. Hi Skoda fellows, I hope you all having nice holidays. Few days ago a daylight warning light popped up in my car's (Skoda Octavia Elegance 1.4TSI 2010) dashboard. Upon scanning, following three codes were found under Electronic Central Electric system: 1. 003232 [014300] Vehicle inclination sensor - Faulty. 2. 01134 [046E00] Alarm horn. 3. 02746 [0ABA00] Right daytime running light lamp - Open circuit/short circuit to B+. NOTE: All error codes are with Status = Active/Static. Regarding #3 error code, following observations are made: - When Steering is straight then left side daytime light works but right side daytime light doesn't work. - if I turn the steering to the right then same lamp on the right side work which was not working before. So it seems like lamp is not fused/broken. As I'm not a auto mechanic, I've no idea about these codes so need help from community to understand the root cause and probable solution. Looking forward to your reply. Best Regards, BobTheSponge
  14. To troubleshoot/confirm the cable issue related to this warning (about back sensor on passenger side), do I have to check the cables from airbag control module till the sensor with multi meter, or?
  15. I've done the reset at least three times but the warning pops up again after 20-30km of driving. Does this symptom confirm that sensor is faulty or?
  16. Bundle of thanks for your reply. I managed to access the location of the faulty sensor. Cables and connector around the sensor seems to be fine. OEM number of the sensor is: 1K0909606D. Checked with Skoda about the cost of the new sensor. It is about 170£. Any suggestion about shall I go for a new one or buy a old one?
  17. Hi Skoda family, I drive Skoda Octavia 2011 1.4 TSI Elegance edition. From some days, airbag warning light popped up in the dash board. Following info retrieved with the help of diagnostic tool: Fault Code: 01639, Error msg: Side airbag crash sensor on passenger side (back), I've been trying to search online to find info about the location of this sensor in my car. Found some similar info and tried the same but no success yet (may be info is not valid for this model or I missed something in the instructions). I live in nordic region, and car repairs are so expensive here. I've checked with Skoda also, and the cost of doing the fault diagnosis is about 160£ and later they will share the quotation with total cost of the repair. My plan is to try DIY before going to dealer/workshop. Can someone help to share some info (pics of service manuals, or a video link) explaining how to: access this sensor to know its OEM number (this will help to match the exact part and calibration settings in case I need to replace the sensor after checking all the cables)? Your reply would be very much appreciated. Thanks
